No chance of me missing mass, my maw used to make the vestments for a number of priests,and they were down at ours to get fittings etc ,believe it or not ,I used to make replica ones with scrap materials for my teddy,right enough I was 15 then lol,no, only kidding ,was about 7/8 ,oh those days ,hh

I felt really holy then ,believe it or not ,I was talking about being a priest, when I was young ,being in that environment,think We were. More in the chapel house than our own,hh

Ray, my Priest is now a Canon. He was a bit hellfire and brimstone, but he was all bark and no bite.

He used to give us a wee tottie of his Paddy's and sing the folk songs. Still going strong is old Canon C.

No, just quiet peaceful ,lots of times my uncle ,who was the choir master , would be playing the organ,to keep his hand in, was ok ,must say,hh

They were all like that ours too,! but all ok,got on well with them,hh

I took a sabbatical for over 20-years and started dipping my toe in the font after my Ma passed.

He recognised me instantly and berated me for my no-show then gave me a big pat on the back and a "welcome home"!

Hahaha we had a curate that made Dougal seem like Albert Einstein. As dumb as a bag of bricks, but a heart of solid gold (pity about the brain of solid concrete).

Nothing was sacrosanct with that boy, but he meant well.
