Police have finally said sorry for the Lies and the ridiculous way they treated the Families of the Hillsborough disaster.
These Fantastic people who took on the might of the British Establishment and beat them. They never gave up they fought for there loved ones names which Thatcher and the Sun newspaper decided we’re not worthy, with the help of the Police who were quite happy to lie change there note books a lesson they used in the Miners strike.
The only thing missing was the conviction of the police chief who made an utter ballsup of the game and who got his pension but deserved Prison.
Well done the Families of the 97 you’ve earned the pride of Football fans the world over 👏

This is a national disgrace which came right from the top. Maggie Thatcher was interfering from the start trying to force her agenda to push through the introduction of identity cards and further besmirch the city of Liverpool which she despised with a passion (ex-Cabinet ministers have since stated that they had to plead with her to not cut off all funding the that city in an attempt to "starve them out" during her dispute with their very left wing socialist council).

How that incompetent police chief escaped jail is disgusting. As you say, this corruption goes right throughout the entire South Yorkshire police who falsified and changed witness statements to incriminate the innocent victims of this tragedy (as you said using underhand methods perfected against innocent striking miners). There should have been many of them locked up for these disgusting actions.

And that bastard Kelvin MacKenzie who contributed so much to incriminating the victims as he published those lies in the scumbag Sun deserved to suffer a lifetime of excrutiating pain.

Rest in peace to the 97 victims, and sending best wishes to their long suffering families & friends (and unrelated survivors who witnessed this trauma and have had to live with these terrible memories) who have been treated like shite by the establishment as they sought a long-overdue justice for the loss/murder of their innocent loved ones.

You'll Never Walk Alone. 💚

The Public Inquiry into Hillsborough is the reason no Police were prosecuted. Plenty cops admitted they lied and falsified times of death. When people called for prosecutions it was said the Police would not get a fair trial because of the statements they made at the Public Inquiry. They were not under oath at the Public Inquiry so the statements they made could not be used against them.
All the cops went home and lived happily ever after with their pensions.
It could be argued that the Public Inquiry was used to prevent future prosecutions of Police.
In future the trial should come first then the Public Inquiry.
Another thing worth noting is that the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police, (Based in Sheffield) was on great terms with the Thatcher Government. It was his Police force that beat the Miners to pulp at the Battle of Orgreave in South Yorkshire. Jimmy Saville (also on good terms with Thatcher and from Sheffield) would phone the Chief of SYP if he got pull for his despicable crimes and he would be released without charge.
What the f was going on in South Yorkshire Police?

I saw that JS, it's a feckin disgrace. 33 fucking years later they finally deign to apologise for fucking over hundreds, if not thousands, of people's lives. I live in Merseyside and the over-arching feeling is that they can cram their apology up their arse! Cunts.

Never forget the first game that Liverpool played and the incredible YNWA.
Put chills and a few tears the most emotional version of that famous Anthem.
And a particular thanks to Kenny Dalgliesh who went to the funeral’s and made sure that every Funeral was attended by LFC.
No matter what he achieved on the football pitch. It wasn’t even close to what he did in the aftermath of Hillsborough.
He became in my eyes a true Giant for Football and the people of Liverpool

100% agree TS the apology is a meaningless gesture and decades too late.
As has been said by others the Tory government (I canny say the bitches name) started with Police compliance
Lying and the SUN ran with it.
That should never be forgotten
But the Families fought and Won against all odds.

Well said mate. See that bitch you alluded to? My Maw's dad used to take off his slippers and throw them at the telly before effin and blindin at the she-bitch. Good job this was the 80's and the tellies weighed a hundredweight or he'd have constantly been shelling out for a new one! 😡

If you read Kenny Dalglish's autobiography it goes into detail about the toll it took on his health. He attended many of the funerals personally (or made sure his deputies were in his place if he was unable to attend) and he made himself very ill - but he considered that a price worth paying as it helped those families who were suffering much worse than him. In the end he was so ill he had to abruptly walk away as manager at LFC as it could have turned nasty as his body simply couldn't cope with the extreme stress he had put it under.

As I said Bridie what he did for the fans and the Families of Hillsborough , imo was greater than his Footballing career.
His humanity shone through as a beacon for the families that’s what real Legends do

I'm old enough to remember the pictures The Sun published, horrific doesnt cover it. What was worse was the article next to them, vile accusations trying to blame the Liverpool fans for bringing it on themselves. The English FA who no one seems to mention, have to accept some blame for placing the game in such an unacceptable dangerous venue.

Most of the police at Orgeave were from The Met, especially drafted in for the conflict, and on more than double time plus. They shouted at the Miners 'you're paying my mortgage off'.

They did that at all the picket lines I was on Brim waving their pay lines at us. Shouting the usual pish you’re paying for ma holidays mortgages and new cars. 😡
you can imagine the reply’s

HH 😉

Ps Orgreave was a scary fucking place no prisoners were taken on both sides
I’ve seen the official police video where they start the whole thing off not the Miners we were walked into the area they wanted us in and then all hell breaks out
I managed to jump a fence 8ft high but the drop was about 50 feet down to the railway line was chased but I was fit back then saw the bastards hit old men and women they had a free licence to.
As I said scary as fuck
