The CHAMPIONS Thread

Astonishingly no Celtic player scored more than 10 league goals this season. In a year when we scored so many goals, we were not reliant on one or two players but we shared them out so our opponents didn't know who would pop up and score next. Also, when our players are hacked and injured we have plenty others who stepped up to put the ball in the net.

You have to believe that many of these players will score even more next season when they have settled in properly and the team gels as it gets used to each other.

Wee Kyogo would have scored double that if not for that injury

To be fair to Kyogo and Jackie.......you wouldn't have bet against them being closer to 20 if they hadn't had their seasons disrupted by injury. Their ratio of goals to games stands up to scrutiny.

Exactly - which should frighten the other clubs as we will only get much much better next season. These players started as strangers, often settling into a new country where there is a rather unique interpretation of the laws of the game by our lovely referees to get used to, where we suffered a terrible run of injuries and played so many matches that there was little time on the training ground to actually coach our players in Angeball.

I can hardly wait to enjoy next season.

 we bit premature you lot ,,,,,it's not won till wednesday ,,,😖 some folk

One step closer to the title

outsiders told us Ange's teams would take a year before his teams would hit the ground running ,,,what an amazing turnaround from last years fiasco both in performance and more importantly the quality of players bought in both windows

But the amazing part is One man on his own won this ,his game plan, his tactics the players he wanted he did it all without any help ,he had no backroom staff he just turned up picked up a jumper ,dismantled and rebuilt a team in his own vision , don't think there's a manager at any other top club who has ever done that usually the come with a bus stop full of staff to back them up

Couldn't be happier for Ange and the players they've brought back the attacking football we all wanted and players who play for each other ,,,,were a team now

if year one's a double ,,,,can't wait for year 2

mon the hoops

Who remembers this mouth breathing, dribbling biased fucktard's glorious and insightful prediction? Feck off you ignorant troll - you offer nothing positive to the sport you are highly paid to promote & discuss because you are so obsessed with pandering to the lowest level zombies.

This is what Rodgers brought to Celtic, the ability to be non reliant upon only our strikers to weigh in with the goals.
Difference is that though it worked well it soon tapered off, sides began to find ways to stop us. Parked bus strategy.
We play much faster now and sides may park the bus but will come under far more intense pressure, our wingers will run at and take on defenders or be replaced.
Great to see and a joy to watch and this is only the beginning HH

Our attack in general winter made us able to score all types of goals without the reliance upon set plays or penos.
Making the pitch as big as possible, and being dangerous down both flanks and decent back up from attacking midfielders, hence such a spread of goals coming from throughout the team.
Brilliant policy of playing imo, and certainly very entertaining to watch.
Yet our conversion rate of converting good chances into goals remained fairly poor imo.
With that in mind, just think how far more comfortably we stand to win games when our conversion rate of chances created improves, which I believe will happen more so next season imo.
