Clean out his boots only to watch the farce that was fed to us!!knowing one of the best heavyweights of all time sold us out I’m wondering who was your boxing hero??and was there ever a better era than when these guys on the clip fought??

I really liked Sugar Ray Leonard. The great thing at that time was there were less weight divisions and only 1 world champion, so the best fighters had to fight each other. The Duran, Hearts, Hagler & Leonard bouts were an incredible series of match-ups.

Of course, in my opinion, Hearns v Hagler is the greatest boxing match ever. 8 minutes of brutality and excitement.

I think the last boxer I enjoyed watching was Lennox Lewis. But too many big name opponents avoided him so he never got the chance to be recognised as a true great. I rarely watch boxing these days.

Without doubt this was the greatest era when you got 4 generational talents that were Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran at one time and they were prepared to fight each other...well for the most part.

Thos is probably the best sporting documentary I have seen. It charts that period when they all come through. It's 4 part and deals with each boxer and their individual stories but brings them all together in a clever way.

You might find it on your erm firesticks

I liked the big daddy v giant haystacks rivalry ... 🙄

For me growing up the heavyweights were all demolished by tyson until buster Douglas. So it was ITV boxing and the Benn, Eubank, Collins era. They were great nights.

The 70's had some brilliant heavyweight duals with Muhammad Ali (the greatest) versus smoking Joe Frazier big Foreman ,Shavers not forgetting the great Henry Cooper. Joe Bugner was the other British heavyweight hope but never quite got up there.
In other weights the excitement of watching Duran Sugar Ray Hagler and the hit man Hearns was tremendous.
My favourite was always Roberto Duran absolute machine and a special mention for Harry Carpenter the voice of boxing through those great years. Great memories.
