Things That Might Interest Thread

I may be corrected on this one but here goes....the term tory was actually an insult. Given to them by their only opposition of the time, the whigs, which was also an insult that the tories made up for their rivals. Think it means an Irish criminal. Watched that on horrible histories with my wee girl a while back
Aw man Lubo,it's 4 in the mornin, are ye sure ye hivnae drapped a tab ae acid! 🍺 🥳

Things that may interest you - Aiden McGeadys dad was an ex-pro footballer who, due to injury retired, and became an English teacher 😁 he was my English teacher at St Andrews. Used to tell us about how good his boy was. He would have been about 14 at the time. He used to tell us he would be a first team celtic player one day.
St Andrews in Cranhill/Greenfield

from Irish tóraiḋe, raider; tóraí in modern spelling). Later in the century, they became known as rapparees.
Had to leave half way through 3rd year cos my brother beat up a boy from cranhill. Loads of the cranhill then turned up at the bus stop on Edinburgh Road looking for me. Couldn't go back. Had to join Lochend!!

He was going home to an empty house lost his wife 2012 but he had a wee dram and spoke to her everyday at the wee table in his kitchen and that’s what he was doing when he died. Glad to say we broke the Law over 200 at his funeral pissing rain and all we could see was a sea of Umbrellas.
great turnout for a great Dad Taught me all about fairness equality during and after the Miners Strike And always standing up for what’s right miss him his sense of humour
And his big smile when he saw his Grand kids all 5 of them

Sorry to hear of your loss. He sounded like a great man and anybody who stood beside the Miners woukd have been a pal of mine. I went to many a March and demo during that strike and remember walking into a miners Welfare hall and they all stood an applauded us. I felt a tear in my eye these warriors of the working class applauded us, they were and still are to my mind fucking heroes. That utter bastard Thatcher had a lot to answer for and I can still taste the bottle of champagne I drank to celebrate her death. RIP to your auld man.

Thanks TV the great thing about the Miners Strike was the support we got from areas we did not expect. And the abject failure of a great swathe of the Unions who should have backed us But didn’t. The Only real success of the Miners Strike was the Women’s support there backing was phenomenal from start to finish they ran Soup kitchens manned picket lines you name it they did it.
The Miners united will never be Defeated. Can hear it now at Bilston Glen Ravenscraig and all over Britain again TV thanks for the kind words

I have never forgiven the TUC who at the annual conference swore to stand by the Miners and when the fighting started ran for cover. Utter fucking bastards. And you are 100% right about the role the women took. They had more balls than the whole hall of delegates. My dad always told me the Miners were our storm.troopers and we should support them.as they did us. That period formed me politically.

Did the 1991 Keep the Craig Running 10K, the Sunday day after the Saturday Motherwell won the Scottish Cup, great day and sad day all at once. a factory closing and a community celebrating a football achievement.

nothing

Well I'm off to work now....wish me luck 😂😂
My understanding of the words whig and tory

Whig party were aristocratic under a zionist worldview with high ranking masonic structures while they lived liberalism for elite they horde the ordinary people like zionist cattle.

a whiggamore was a cattle driver to my understanding.

Liberalism for the elite

slavery for the cattle- very orange thinking

they had hatred for Irish men

anybody who wanted a fairer system for poor and relaxing of anti-Catholic laws were constantly on the run

in Irish toraigh or something to that effect was name given to the flight of the earls

scary pants- on the run is gist of what toraigh was meant to mean

so it stuck that anybody who felt the Liberal glorious revolution was rank were termed toraigh.

Whig the party system began at same time as manifestation of the grand lodges the opposition was the tory party from Irish word on the run

the tories were usually Jacobite sympathisers and loyal to the true king

but the glorious revolution called them rebels

when the whig party collapsed around the peter loo massacre in Manchester the tory party and liberal party melded into the modern Conservative party, imo

just as labour movements started to expose the zionist cattle agenda

So a 4th estate was created to promote the 3rd estate propaganda machines

the newspapers the finance and the law are all centred in the same place as the elite gentlemen clubs

the whiggamore city of London which imo is the power behind the throne and parliament

the liberal party became a watered down version of whigs

modern tory became pretty much the whig party but the old tory party was dead for ever.

the original toraigh was finished

an interesting song which I believe is still the song of the liberal party- spawn of the whigs

dead but still alive -sounds familiar LOL

has an interesting tune to it

been sung for over 100 years at liberal conferences

after death of whig party around time that Abraham Lincoln became republican president

interestingly Republican Party was formed from the death of American whig party

labour movements appeared

So instead of whig v tory in England, strange really cause the hanoverians just selected their men from either party. mishmash of loyal to king parliaments (glorious revolt kings I may add)

the rise of voting rights and more socialist ideas led to rebranding of old systems

into land party- liberals
capital party -conservatives
Labour Party - workers

red yellow and blue

So the term tory had lost its historical meaning and was now used by Neo whig party who were conservatives of the whig glorious revolution

liberals represented the land owners but pretended the land belonged to people

And labour movements became run by a different form of zionism pretending to free the people from oppression

all run by the gentleman clubs and the city of London zionists

bog land for cattle

city walls for ra peepo
