Transfer Window - Summer 2025

According to Transfermarkt Balikwisha has missed 62 games through injury over the last 4 seasons. That should be a red flag and probably best avoided.
They said the same about Derk "Sicknote" Boerrigter, and look how that turned out...

To be fair to Balikwisha, he has managed between 38 and 44 club appearances every season since 2020, so most of those missed games must have been through his recent cruciate injury.

What th th th thththth feck hello sir can a borrow yir computer 💻
Is he guid buy or Naw
Can only assume the club if they’re after him are convinced he can do a good job for us can only hope as Gazpeterlawwellry Huz said we’re getting a deep centre mid although imo
If and when KT returns I think big Jeff Could Schlupp the cen/ mid position all to himself

HH🍀

Following on from the Return of Jota, how about Kyogo and Matt O'Riley?

Seriously though, it is a shame it hasn't worked out for Kyogo. I know he has nothing to do with us, but I appreciate his efforts for us and hoped he'd continue to do well. It also means clubs may be more reluctant to pay us the higher transfer fees we've started to receive when we sell our stars.

It was a strange move for him and he clearly wanted away from us so he would be very unlikely to return.

Would swap Idah for him any day of the week

Rumour mill in full flow now...

Rangers hope to persuade Greg Taylor to switch from Celtic this summer, but with Dinamo Zagreb, who failed in a January bid, still keen and Major League Soccer clubs also interested, the 27-year-old Scotland left-back will assess all other options before even considering such a controversial move

Why don't we see if they want to do a left back swap - Taylor for Tavpen? 🥳 🎉

I have had a strange thought.
It seems that a number of Celtic players are finding it hard to get motivated these days and there is also some talk around about players wanting to leave. I was thinking that maybe the discontent is with Rogers and his methods and stubborn ways. Any thoughts?

We have players who have had a dip in form. It happens. Various reasons, long hard season catching up with some, some carrying injuries, some know they are off in the summer. The fact we have had no competition in the league and have known we would win it in a canter since before Christmas has also had an affect. There is no jeopardy this season like last season when we hit form around this time when we had to.
Players will always want to leave, and we should not hold onto anyone who is unhappy. We are a selling club, a club that gives players an opportunity of a move to the lucrative EPL whilst getting good European experience and a handful of medals.
Why would any of them have discontent with Rodgers? He picks them every week and gives them the opportunity to shine.

Why did they buy him?

Something seems weird with this transfer?

prolific striker played as winger or left mid because 2 18 year olds are better?

Man city were interested in him not that long ago allegedly.

I think he is quality striker but I suspect he didnt really want to be here if Celtic let him go mid season for nominally smaller fee than his ability and goal getting and general hard work he gave Celtic and his previous clubs.

Great player imo. But Rodgers doesnt play style that suits his talents imo.

Idah is good enough potential but I think he needs a proper fully ready striker with similar talents to what Idah has to bring his potential up a few gears.

Not sure who the next striker signing should be, but assuming rodgers here for long term then my priority would be Big powerful striker who can help develop Idah to where he needs to be.

I think Idah would be more suited to playing alongside another striker. With Kühn being so off form then worth starting Adam with Maeda more central (old inside left rather than on the wing) and Jota with a free role with freedom to roaming either side. It might give Hun DMc something unexpected to deal with when we face Killie this weekend.

What about trying again for Tommy Conway? OK, we missed out on him last summer when Bristol City sold him to Middlesbrough for up to ~£4m (we were reportedly only wanting to offer £300K). He has scored 12 goals so far (a goal every 159 minutes on the pitch) and won his first couple of caps for Scotland.

He has pace, stamina and energy in abundance and loves to press with intensity from the front. Him and Maeda upfront would give goalies and defenders nightmares (yes, I'm looking at you, Captain Disappointed). He is only 6' 1", so not particularly tall, but still a decent enough size to cause a threat. As often happens with very fast youngsters, he did suffer a hamstring strain in December, so that may be a very slight concern.

Although he is still pretty raw, he would just be turning 23 when next season kicks off so should be expected to continue to develop. Although he plays for Scotland he was from Taunton and had worked his way up through the Bristol youths before leaving to join Boro, so I am not 100% sure on his home-grown status.

He is maybe one for the future, while still contributing a lot to the current side. But if he continues to develop as he has done then he is perfect for our business model - as well as Brodgeball - and so would bring in a decent profit when we inevitably cashed in on him.
