transfer window

Seems the first half of the window has focused on deals going out.
Confirmed outs so far Welsh and Holm with what looks like imminent departures for Bernabei and Palma.
With young Kenny now in to give us a 3rd striker option I suspect we will get one winger in who can cover both sides of the pitch along with possibly one more mid.
I think that will be the max we see in this window.
The summer window could be much bigger with the threat of Kuhn Kyogo Hatate and maybe even AJ all big possibilities for serious bids coming in.
Hatate I can live with ...let's hope the planning is in place and we strengthen firstly in these next two weeks.

At age 31, Endo is too old at €15 million - he simply does not fit our profile for signings. If he was 21, then he might be okay for that price!

Is anyone an expert at sell on clauses? French Eddy is never going to play for Palace again and I see there are rumours about his transfer. Does the typical sell on clause only apply to a sell on 'profit' i.e. the amount the next club makes over and above what they paid us for the player, or do they typically work as a % of ANY fee? They are clearly NOT going to get what they paid us for him, hence my question! Do we even have that type of clause on him? He seems like the type of player where we would have one included?

I know we have a clause on Frimpong, similar to the ones we had with Wanyama, Van Dijk etc. so I'm hoping there is interest in him too.

They are already crying on WallowWallow that we might turn a profit on Bernabei... Hun greetin' makes me happy, so any money trickling in will set them off! 🤣
Sell-on clauses will usually only ever apply to any profit made on a subsequent transfer. We never got anything for Dembele and won't for French Eddy. Frimpong has the potential to be another bonus for us as VVD was.

Hilariously, some sevco fans are now claiming they will receive a 10% sell-on for Tillman returning to Bayern Munich who are triggering their €35m buy-back clause. They are the same idiots who claimed they'd receive a large transfer fee when he returned to Bayern (his parent club) after being on loan at the Bigot Dome, then a share of the fee when Bayern sold him and now a share of the transfer fee when Bayern pay to take him back. No wonder every klub that plays in that place is a financial basketcase!

I'd think a left back would be on the cards, if not 2...defo one this window though..

KT on a pre contract, if we can negotiate with Arsenal to get him at the end of this window then Taylor will go. If not and he won't arrive until the summer then Taylor will stay until the summer then leave on a free transfer.
Kyogo will go this window if we get the replacement in, if not he'll go in the summer, as will Hatate.

Think we'd like to sign, but won't necessarily get deals done, KT, a left sided attacking player and maybe a young centre half. In addition if any of our 'big' players (eg Kyogo, Hatate) leave then will only do so with a replacement signed.

Looking like a right footed left winger is where we are concentrating our efforts going by the players linked (Orjasaeter, Barry, Melia).

I think we should be looking to sign one or two Scottish players for next season's UEFA squad. We should always be looking to pick up home based players, especially as we will never give any youngster from our own Academy a chance. Sign up this window and loan back to their club until the end of the season (similar to what we did with Ryan Christie and ICT).
The likes of Lennon Miller, David Watson, Lyall Cameron, James Wilson (obviously not all of them) would all add something to our squad in the same was the likes of Greg Taylor and Luke McCowan have.

If we do bring in another striker he'd have to hit the ground running and in some big games... Keep Kyogo till the summer at least imho.

Thought Brendans comments on Idah were a bit embarassing yesterday.Giving 100% in a Celtic shirt should be a given when signing for Celtic and if you are signing a striker for 9 million then youre expecting goals!Obviously protecting his player but the big man has to do more for me.

WE can say that on here...

...Managers have to manage individual characters, and only they will know where on the 'kick up the arse'/'arm round shoulder' spectrum they fall.

I'm sure what Brendan said was what he feels is appropriate for Idah currently?

Hopefully the goals will come but i'm not convinced.Feel free to slaughter me if he starts banging them in.

We wouldn't do that... we'll leave that sort of thing to the Hun on WallowWallow.

My impression is that he's a 'confidence' player and he had that when he was on loan at the end of last season, even when he wasn't starting.

He hasn't really had that success as a sub this year. I thought he kept the RC backline busy on Saturday, whilst not scoring himself.

What I WOULD say is that he has lost half a yard of pace compared to the back end of last season and he needs to find that again.

Would be crazy to let Kyogo go in this window especially with big Idah currently not reaching the heights of his Loan spell....although BR wants him to play the hold up striker to bring others into the game and to be fair he's scored 8 goals in 11 starts.

It seems that Brendan protects his strikers by asking for goals across the team which again to be fair sees our front 4 of the two strikers and two wingers currently sitting close on 50 goals between them so it's a decent return and testament to our syle and tactics at the half way mark.

We all like to see a striker be clinical but i don't think Rodgers looks for a poacher type finisher to be honest.
Personally I quite like the different balance both our strikers bring especially supported by the dynamism we have on the wings.
Young Kenny might just be the 3rd option of that approach.

Ideally Kyogo stays until the summer, at least. In reality if it's the player himself who wants to move (and why would he change agents not long after signing a contract extension) then sometimes you just need to say thanks and let them go. But only if a replacement is signed.
I think BRs press conference comments yesterday was a way of softening us up for a possibility of a Kyogo move when he said if a player wants to leave then he can go if the club get what they want in a transfer fee.

Johnny Kenny certainly made an impact/impression when he came on for his debut at the weekend. But then it shouldn't be a surprise, he is 2nd top scorer in the UEFA Conference League. Hopefully we see more of him in the coming games.

I see The Sheeps Jack McKenzie left back also out of contract 24 really good back up for KT.
But still big Monty fur me

Maybe it's a question of wait and see if we qualify or not for the play off stages of the CL...i wouldn't expect any movement of any big hitter before then.
But yer right BR didn't close anything down but I still expect if he did go it would be the summer same with KT coming in.
To replace Kyogo you'd be looking at £12m + so that would be minimum sale price for me regardless of his age.

Canny stand him , there's once a hun but he takes it more seriously than others and is actively a hun in my eyes.
He's been nothing but bad news for KT, doesn't appreciate the talent that's there , has tried and failed to break KTs confidence by dropping him , loaning him out, playing youngsters in front of him and then now Celtic are looking highly likely to sign him he wants to play him the wee prick probably hoping he picks up an injury he'll know KT will give everything in his last arsenal game as he does every game, or he could be giving him a send off with the arsenal fans, but nah pretty strong gut feeling tells me that he is a wee hun prick.

ONCE A HUN, FOREVER A HUN. IMO,, wee action man hair, wae brushable eyebrows & detestable W⚓
