transfer window

A new striker is a must.

The argument about keeping DM and NK happy wont be an issue. We used to have a bench that had loads of pace on the wings. Goals as well. They all were rotated and got mins.
Abada and Jota left. Khun coming in gives us the pace option to replace Abada. We never replaced Jota. He is now coming back.

Maeda has improved. Khun is a better player than Abada. Jota once up to speed is the icing on the cake.

It's heartbreaking that Kyogo has decided to move as he would of thrived having that added quality available over a full game.

Not to mention KT chipping in with crosses and pace.

Could of been epic on paper.

Anyway it's not where we are. A robust pacey wee CF is where we have to look now. We won't get the running, awareness or skill that Kyogo had. That's just the way things go.

Could we end up stronger and more suited to BRs system? Highly likely if we recruit properly.

If we manage to get Rocky moved. A new CB in and quality CF (kt and Jota confirmed also) then it's about as good as we could of hoped for in a Jan window given the circumstances.

Palma and Yang have had too many mins. Forrest would of been in front of both if he wasnt injured which says to me there is still room for a young project if palma seals his move. Give the project a half+ preseason.

We will see how all of this lands come the end of the window.

Striker first celtic

So Jota on a four and a half year deal, after we senti him out on an 18 month loan that pocketed us £18m.

PTierney to sign a pre-contract with the hope Arsenal will agree to a deal to loan him for the rest of the season (their starting full back is attracting interest, so unlikely they'll let him leave unless/until they have signed someone else).

We need a replacement for Kyogo and it appears the Norwegian is our number 1 target, so hopefully we can secure him.

I'd still like another striker in. Someone like that big physical grafter from Dundee that can get on the end of crosses from Jota, Kühn, Tierney, AJ, Ralston, Taylor, etc. They would offer us something different, be cheap and probably delighted to act as back-up to Idah plus 1, along with Kenny, who would all get a decent amount of gametime if we used them wisely.

I'm guessing that you mean Simon Murray, but he'll be 33 years old in a couple of months, so probably too old for us to buy, though there's no doubt that he would offer us something that seems to be lacking in Idah. Tony Docherty must be wary of losing a few of his players in this window (allegedly the Huns are trying to get Cameron on a pre-contract), as more than a few of them have shown up well recently (Mulligan and Adewumi, in particular). However, maybe Celtic should be thinking of trying out some of our own first, such as Daniel Cummings.

Agree totally with you BB, about Simon Murray. We have needed that type of player for years now. A real front line, battling bruiser, to unsettle defences. Considering the amount of possession and breaking ball in the opposition box that we fail to convert, I am convinced he would be a scoring asset. He may be pushing on in years, so he would not cost the earth. Bring something new to our game and would pay for himself. I think it is worth the risk. Go get him.

Yes, Murray (or maybe I am mixing him up with Dalby from Dundee Utd?). He isn't a player to be making a profit on in 3 years time, but will be a player we can use in a large number of games and know he can do a decent job. He would cost less to buy than, say, Holm and his wages would be half of what Scott Bain is on and would contribute a lot more on the pitch.

Just to be clear - I am only making this suggestion as it fits the budget our board are prepared to pay. As we've seen, the alternative is to buy no one which can leave us very exposed due to loss of form, fatigue, injuries, suspension, tiredness from international duty. We can and should be able to afford another top quality striker to improve us for Europe but that will not happen.

I totally agree with playing our youngsters a LOT more. This can also be done in conjunction with buying the occasional experienced player who we know can contribute in domestic games which make up 80% of our match day schedule each season. Rather than repeatedly subbing on Full Backs to see out games, bring on a youth player.

it looks like we have lost Cummings too. A lower tier English club have made an offer from him and we supposedly haven't even offered him a contract!

Tired of reading endless stories about Jota, Tierney’s imminent arrival. Either they have signed contracts or they have not. Until the club officially confirm this I’m not reading any more clickbait bs articles about these 2. Same with Kvistgaarden.
If Cummings is leaving too then as I and others here have said why bother with an academy? Just shut it down, save the running cost and buy young players from elsewhere.
