Poor Mrs Mag 7, holiday to Tenerife on the horizon and they fuckers selt wee Kyogo

I'm replying to you, but its not directed at you, i just wanted to put that wee dig in above..
Have a great holiday my friend.
Now that i've nearly got a million tax returns done, i can safely enjoy a read and a few moments to impart my thoughts in more detail.
I've been a very vocal critic of this lot running our club over my time on here, but it's always been a lack of ambition. I've been their biggest critic on here, but to their credit, i see a shift in the sands and while i'll never be on my soapbox giving them praise, i see a huge shift in their outlook.
It started with the reappointment of the Rodge, i was fucking sick to my stomach. I wouldn't have let him through the door, but these guys take decisions without the emotion. I can't remember where, but i read the other day about football being about mercenaries and the quote was, ' players and managers are all merecenaries in one way shape or form, so you might as well have the best mercenary your money can buy'. It may have been that bellend forrest, but i'll give credit where its due.
Season 1 was a struggle and the manager (i still struggle to name him) to his credit really dragged us over the line. When it looked like going tits up, he was the calmest and to his credit, he showed his class as a manager. I remember a couple of interviews he did where he fought back and in truth he schooled journalists and to be honest us supporters that were flapping. 'I know what we have here and when shit hits the fan, they'll show they have the character to win, do others'.
We bought a load of shite in the summer he re-joined and he made it clear over time, they were a load of shite. Don't doubt he got rid of JNR and his sidekick. Buck was calling the shots in the football dept. and he was strong enough to win, despite it being the son of Sam.
He really made one decision on transfers last season and that was Idah.
Idah may look like Tyson Fury attempting to play football this season, but his goals last year won us a double that was for a long time in doubt. Not single handeBuckdly, but if you look at his contribution and what would have came to pass had he not been there.....
This summer, Buck got them to break our transfer record twice in a few weeks. The guys a clever operator, he knew we needed to spend big to progress and they showed a faith in him that is probably warranted. The facts are simple, if they backed him and it went tits up, they would have been burned badly. But they believe in this guys abilities and for the first time since M'ON, they're giving him the tools he's asking for.
I've said recently, Matt who ? He ain't been missed.
Reading the lads recent comments reminded me of something.
He couldn't get a regular game under Ange. Thats not a criticism of the big man, but the facts are simple, BR turned that lad into the 30 million player. He identified the talent, played him where he would excel and the bhoy flourished. BR made that bhoy the 30 million player, a fact.
This season, we've seen a continuation of the same theme.
He signed Idah, club record signing (for a few weeks), but is not put off by the fee HE paid, Kyogo was better....end of. The signing of the summer for me has been McCowan, knowing the lad aside, has often looked a better fit than Bernardo and Engels, like most supporters who are thinking the same as me, he knows that Engels and Bernardo int he long term will be better.
Even signing McCowan showed me that he knows its not always got to be mega-bucks all the time, there's a time and a place for a million pound player as opposed to the mega-bucks. I'm not ignorant of the fact the same day he signed and 11 million CM, he also bought a local lad for a fraction of the price. Celtic fans have at times been asking for McCowan over Engels, which shows you that the value we got in McCowan was very shrewd. If you can sign a player for 10% of Engels value who is going to push him to the max, its a no-brainer.
I've went a long way to get to this, but i can see why many question the sale of Kyogo, Villa game and all. For me, as soon as any player asks to leave, then its just about getting the best deal you can for the Club. Lets not forget, despite the wee smile and the love he's showed, Kyogo's a wee laddie from a different part of the world that has no real affinity with us. Sure he's got that smile and says all the right things, but like Maeda/Hatate, they'll be off at the first opportunity that suits them.
I think of the pelters KT got when he left, because he was one of us. He was sold by us, that bhoy never wanted to leave. He has stated that he was watching his pals playing football and the Club called him and said we've booked your flight........ That lad would have left with a heavy heart, like Jota, but when your ebing sold and the money on offer is life changing, it happens........ Kyogo asked to leave and lets be honest what the fuck is this move all about, he must be desperate to leave if he's going there. For me the only disappointment is not in the club, but the fact that our wee talisman is going to some fucking shitehole in a move that baffles me. Leaving Celtic for that........ titles, adulation, Champions League, for a lame duck, perhaps the wee smile was a put on.
As far as timing goes, sometimes these things are not ideal, but thats just the way it is.
10-12 million for a 30 something that wanted to leave, who was bought for 5, is good business.
I know people don't want to hear good business ahead of Villa, but for me, its just another game. I'll be gutted if we get fucked aye, but i accept the timing. The guy we're heartbroken to lose wanted out. When i think of what he had here, i am like many fucking bemused that he is willing to bin us for money. But maybe the smiling assassin is no different to many smiling mercenarys who walked through the door at Paradise.
No matter what, i'm only interested in who wants to be here, no matter the game in 2 days or 2 weeks. When you have a window where you sign the quality of KT and Jota, my comfort is not in them signing, its the statement of intent our club is showing.
KT is 27 years-old and has his prime to come. It's a ridiculous piece of business. I'll make a prediction here and now. I can see him getting fit and playing a fucking blinding season next year, a genuine buzz from once again getting to wear the only jersey he ever craved, and holding that megaphone. We'll watch him thrive and they'll sell him for 25-30 million again, he's simply that good a player that there will always be interest providing he's fit and the right side of 30. the only thing that matters is does he improve the team. If fit, a back line of Kasper, AJ, CCV, Trusty, Tierney anyone ????
As for Jota, that lad was a fucking hun-skelper. Here we have another player, thrived at the club, loved the club and we sold him. Had a few years away, earned a fucking fortune but while he earned, there was no joy. This bhoy will be fucking champing at the bit. Again, does he improve the team ? there's not a Celtic fan that doesn't love Maeda, but FFS, there's no doubt he's an upgrade with the ball at his feet.
My outlook is very positive right now. I've known for a long time that we're decent but no more.
A country fucking mile ahead of the huns, the remainder of this season is prep for next season.
A CL record that reads 7 played and only 1 defeat.
Automatic qualification a game early.
We've been very lucky with the draw, but deep down i know were miles away from where we're likely to be in a years time. I see a club progressing, a manager in charge that is as good as we can get and a fucking plan.
So while i'll miss Kyogo, i'ts not Murdo leaving us for Dortumund or Henrik.
Whatever happens against Villa, either way, i'll hurt or celebrate like the rest of you guys.
But whatever happens, for the first time in many moons, i feel like my club is finally moving in a direction that aligns with what many of us have long craved.
So for me, despite my craving to beat any fucking English team we face, its just one game on a pathway.
PS I was on the phone to my pal last week when Dessers scored for the huns, i let out a noise which he questioned. I think i almost hate the English snobs more than the huns i opined. 2 minutes later, i was screaming when Fernandes scored, my mate opined, this is one of those games where you don't know who you hate more......
Nah, which goal did i cheer the loudest ?
Nite folks
