Hopefully, Celtic's letter to Willie Collum is the start of the club's meaningful public, and official challenging, of wrong VAR and refereeing decisions. But I will not hold my breath.
A thought on the issue though. While I do not know of the cost of installing a proper VAR system, I wonder, if it is in our greater interest to consider the installation of one, totally independent of that used by the SFA. Purely for Celtic's own use and needs.
Independent non Scottish officials could be brought in for its operation. It could be used by Celtic TV to give a better analysis on contentious decisions.
It could also be used as back up evidence to highlight issues with the controversial SFA version.
The analysis would make the SFA officials wary of public transparency, regarding the process as to how their decisions were arrived at. Thus, reducing the possibility of 'honest mistakes'.
Surely, the SFA could not have an issue with this, as it would help improve decision making in the Scottish game.
If we were able to install a state of the art disco lighting system, to enhance the match day experience, then surely we can afford this, as an aid, to ensure reduction in the number of poor VAR and refereeing decisions in Scottish football. Considering, they particularly seem to affect our club. ?
Just a thought.
