Well Being

My Wellbeing has been lifted with the news today of a Public Inquiry into the Battle of Orgreave where 95 men were charged with Riot and Illegal assembly. By South Yorkshire police and The Prosecutor. The case against these men collapsed when it was discovered that the Police had falsified and fabricated evidence against the Miners. The guy in charge was the same man who got Officers to alter there notebooks in the deaths of 97 Liverpool fans at Hillsborough.
The campaign for this has taken 13 years so well done to the NUM and the Orgreave Truth and Justice campaign led by Joe Rollins who is casually elated at the news.
This was another of Labours campaign manifesto pledges. Which they have kept to
The Miners had well over half a billion removed from there pension which was returned. And the new Employment laws currently sitting in the house awaiting passing. Which will make it harder to fire and rehire workers on lower wages.

If I remember correctly the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police was Jimmy Savilles (Hes from Sheffield) phone call whenever he got lifted. They were both very close to the Conservative Party and Thatcher in particular.
ITV and BBC edited their footage to make it appear as if the miners attacked the Police but it was the other way round.
The miners strike (The Hunger Strike too) and everything that followed shaped my political views and gave me a hatred of the Tories that has never left me.

We were guided into Orgreave with the police being very friendly to us but to man when we reached the field they wanted us in we knew they wanted blood. To this day and I was at Ravenscraig. I have never seen that many so called policemen ever.
We knew at the time that serving soldiers were being used we’d seen it at Ravenscraig.
And the official police video which was released after the strike showed they started the attacks. You don’t go into a situation like that knowing what the outcome was going to be. As I’ve said on previous posts I was chased down to the railway line I jumped the fence which was about 6/8 feet high on the way up but 30/40feet drop the other side but jump I did. I made it through dumb luck and with a lot of Judo and Rugby training I was also fit. Got over the line up the other side I looked back to see
Miners who weren’t lucky getting the kicking from these bastards.
Will never forget that and will never be able to this day to forgive the bastards.
Especially the ones who waved the pay lines at us.
Only thing good from the strike was the Women who joined their men and sons on the lines or organising soup kitchen’s they were the real Heroes for me.
It’s a shame that some of my friends are not here to see this day.
To all my fellow Miners you fought with grace humour and courage I salute you.

Radiotherapy now completed for my girl, a couple of weeks ago, and starting to return to normal.

Having had radiotherapy myself , I know just how tiring it is ,tell your girl to march to the beat of her own drum and not be hurried by others ,tell her if she needs to rest then rest and if she needs to stop then stop.Keep up the good fight.

Couldn’t agree more, it’s how she feels and not how people want her to feel I wish her well on her Journey. Ask her what her aims and wishes are one day at a time
