I hope both are fit and well. The football has been gash and the money scam of football doesnt help with mood. So hopefully both just scunnered with the way football being run and taking a break.Frank messaged me to say that he had asked W.C. to delete him. I messaged back because he didn't say why he didn't want to be on the Noise anymore. He didn't get back to me so I have no idea why. Maybe I'll bump into his sister and find out if everything is ok with him.
It's very unusual for Winter to be gone so long.
Here here tt. If only our regulars came back on we would all be in a great place. Their postings brought so much to all our debates. Particularly miss Shottsghirl would message her back and forward as we went back long ways with the blog.. There are so many we miss that it would take me hours on here to mention them all. I hope that they and their families are all well and enjoying time together.I hope both are fit and well. The football has been gash and the money scam of football doesnt help with mood. ill keep them in my prayers and hope they both fit and well.
World is badly broken and football is not solving the escape it once did as its broken too.

SP and I met up with him a while back and he's a lovely man and a very knowledgeable one too. That is sad about Frank. I can't think of anything that would have made him want to leave. Hopefully he has a wee break and comes back soon as he was one of the sensible ones on here.

Thank you Dill . For remembering me about Canada . Although I was visiting my sister in Toronto it was and it is a beautiful country . My wife went to school in Squamish BC for a year while her mother back home was receiving heart surgery. She learnt a lot there and like bed her time with her Aunt. You and your family are very blessed you have a beautiful family may God bless you all.Well, this getting old shit is definitely not for cissies
And as we all know, most of us anyway, you pay for the sins of your youth, when you are on the back nine
Add to that the usual health concerns we all have at times, and then Mother nature has a hand in letting us know that we are pretty much insignificant when it comes the world we live in
Once more, BC, parts of Alberta, Manitoba, and other provinces are having a tough time with wildfires
I took this photo yesterday around 5 o clock when I took Georgia out for a walk
This is our road and the weather has been absolutely brilliant all Summer
With that, comes the inevitable wildfires which have devastated towns across the country
Yesterday, it was said that Vancouver had the world's worst air pollution due to the wildfires raging in the province
There is a wildfire in Hope, BC, about an hours drive from us, which has caused this smoky haze in our neighbourhood
After my recent hospital stay with pneumonia, which brought on a heart attack, I have to be very careful, so I had on a mask, and we cut the walk short as it's not good for any of us
It's a bit better this morning, so we did our normal loop and the breeze helped, but still smells like bacon outside ;-)
Wishing you all good health and happiness, from beautiful British Columbia

Cheers AllyThank you Dill . For remembering me about Canada . Although I was visiting my sister in Toronto it was and it is a beautiful country . Yeah willdo palYou stay safe brother![]()
Yes she has been to whistler her cousin John Lowe stayed there. She stayed with her aunt n Brittania Beach,. Forgive me the spelling. She would go to school on the bus with the Indians from the reservation. Imagine that in those days how times have changed and for the better. My sister yesterday as 18 when she arrived in Toronto in a snowstorm . Not being dressed for the Canadian climate she found out very quickly what it can do to your system. Freezing cold she had to get warm clothes before hypothermia set in. She's doing great now as she is 86. But a harsh lesson was learnt that day she first steeped on Canadian soil.Cheers Ally
Well that's interesting, your wife will have been to Whistler BC, just up the road from Squamish
Toronto is ok but having been there onemember, when there was lots of snow on the ground, and returned the following April, and it was still there, made me think I made the right decision to come to the west coast
The Winters back East are severe, we get a lot more rain and milder Winters but still gets pretty cold out this way but not the -30 they can get in Ontario and Quebec
Yes, I realise how fortunate I am to have the family I do
We're expecting rain this weekend which should help clear the skies and help with the wildfire situation
Be well
HH

Thanks for the picture Dill. Brought back so many memories for my wife.Your story about arriving in Toronto reminded me of when I worked at YVR
A young Australian girl arrived in the Customs Hall
Her luggage didn't make the flight and she asked me if everything was in already
Now, it was mid January here, and was about minus 10 outside
Being an Aussie, and with it being their Summer, when she left, she had on a tank top, shorts, and flip flops, and that was it
I told her that as her baggage hadn't shown up the airline would give her $500 and she could go shopping for new Winter gear
I asked if her final;l destination was Vancouver, and she said "No, I'm going to a place called Saskatoon..."
I said "Well, you're definitely going to have to get some Winter clothes before getting there, as right now it's minus 35 in Saskatoon"
And I stand corrected, it's actually the Stawamus Chief and as you'll see, it's impressive in it's size and location
