100% Tommy, always be there for your friendsOne of my best friends has been in ICU unit in crosshouse hospital for nearly 2 weeks I’m just back tonight and he’s doing better than a few days ago
Tell you what the staff in hospitals should be paid more money They are a credit and must be one of the most emotionally challenged jobs you can get and I personally couldn’t do it
The world is full of good people and my mate is one of them so the baby step improvement has made me happy Bhoy tonight
Hope your mate makes a full and speedy recovery
I was in ICU for 10 days back in June/July
Pneumonia, brought on a heart attack and the paramedics got me to hospital in time
I'm feeling much better now, and back walking every day with 'wolfie'
My mate (Ayrshire man} and a great guy, had been dealing with Parkinson's for about 12 years, he's still the same funny man he's always been, but he's slowed down so much, and the tremors are getting worse, he takes naps more often now, as he gets winded easily
Used to be into running and cycling, but that's well past now
He's getting out walking again with two sticks (ski pole looking things) and he's feeling better for it, but part of 'Parky' as he calls it, is anxiety, and he sent me a message earlier saying him and his wife went to the big Superstore for groceries, but he had to go back to the car as he had a panic attack because of the crowds in the store
He really is a diamond, I took him out for a coffee a while back, and as he got in my car, he said..."Take me to McDonald's, I feel like a shake"
As I said, he is always up for a laugh and I text him every day, he went through skin Cancer treatment, which I am going through at the moment, so that helped me psychologically to see what is involved
I was at the specialist yesterday (second time in the past 6 months) and had my face frozen in about 10-12 places, like bee stings on my coupon, but no biggie, went grocery shopping afterwards and got some funny glances, as I guess my face was blotchy, goalie for a dart board team without a mask analogy
I asked him if I had skin Cancer...he said "No...Not yet...but if we don't deal with it now, it will most likely become skin Cancer..."
The Dr asked if I wanted the freezing or a prescription for cream
I asked what was in the cream...
He said "Chemotherapy, it burns the skin off..."
FFS "Just do the freezing..."
So, another little 'gift' to add to my ongoing shit list ;-)
They say you shouldn't put personal stuff online, but I thank you for setting up this thread Marky, as it helps, and that's another great part of our wee Community

When she's over at our place Liliana loves to watch Minecraft on you tube
It must have become implanted in my brain, because when they sedated me with Fentanyl, I had several hallucinagenic experiences, took me back to my late teens...one dream I had, I was over in South Korea, building different coloured walls just like Minecraft
When I woke up after they reset my ankle the nurse was there, a nice Asian girl
She asked "How are you doing ?"
I said (slurred it really) "I was just in Korea..."
She laughed as she was from Korea
No sleep last night as the pain meds they gave me home had little to no effect
T3's needed on Monday when the Dr is back in
They had to cut off all my clothes in (ooer missus) so went home in one of those goony's that is supposed to tie at the back, only there was only one tie
No shoes, underwear, nothing, went home in hospital gown that because the wind was howling blew up around my neck as we got outside, no shoes, socks, nothing, just the goony that you could spit through, fucking freezing I was ;-)
Kerry was pissing herself laughing, cos my arse looked like two burst balloons...allegedly

Another bear, and a deer caught on camera in our backyard two nights ago, at different times of course
Thank Christ the bear never showed when I was lying on the grass

Kandise Liliana and our son Kyle dropped in to check on me and make my first food and cuppa for 24 hours
As soon as the wee yin came in, she was straight over giving me a big hug
She stayed beside me and said..."Papa, tell me honestly, are you going to be ok?"

She melts my heart and I assured her I was

Past year it's been an endless supply of 'challenges' I'm a fucking car crash mate, and it's not even a clapped out Honda ;-)
Some people go through life and can't understand when people are struggling, a former boss of mine was a great example of this, I nicknamed the Teflon Man, nothing seemed to stick...until something really big came back to bite him on the ass, although he's likely learned nothing from it, and is still a prick to this day

In my pain and delirium of drug induced answers that the nursing staff were firing at me...one of the questions was "Who's your emergency contact ?"
I answered immediately: "My husband" "Eh, erm, no, my wife!!"

There's a story behind the cutting off of all my clothing...and it shall be revealed at some point in the future...Kerry said it was like a STILL GAME episode
Tell you what though, my wife is a gem, she went right after work and after being up for about 24 hours nearly, she drove down and picked up my prescription meds, now, THEY are helping and I should get a sleep tonight, for a change
