Well Being

Hope everyone's week went well, and you're looking forward to a great weekend
It was two weeks today that the prat fall happened, me being the prat 🙄
The meds I'm on just dull the pain, but I'm seeing the specialist next week to find out how the healing and knitting together of plates, screws and bones is coming along
Positive thoughts is how I roll especially in the early hours of this morning when I decided to do a stuntman impression as I lost my balance on the sticks as I was coming into the living room
Both crutches were up in the air like a fucking windmill but with my cat like reflexes, I rolled onto my good side, keeping my stookie up in the air
Knocked over a couple of things, but nothing broken, then gathered myself, and the crutches, then thought fuck it, and crawled on my good knee to the couch
Must have looked like a dog pissing, as my right leg was up off the ground
Upshot was that more pain meds were required and my ankle is letting me know not to be a dizzy bastard today 😁
As I type this, our Wolfie is lying against me on the couch
Long road to go but we'll get there
Stay safe and best to you all
Maybe I should be wrapped in bubble wrap when venturing outdoors

Are you sure your real name isn't Frank Spencer? 🤔

Appointment with specialist this afternoon, to see how everything is coming alongX Ray 1.jpg
Six weeks off my feet, no weight bearing, walking only with the crutches, which is a challenge at times
I'm out of pain meds, so I think I'll be getting more today
No more Cirque Du Soleil gymnastics for yours truly
Hope you're all doing well
That's it from Cripple Creek

FFS, it sounds like there are some right clumsy people on here
Were any of you wearing flip flops ?
Still on the sticks for another three weeks
I've have had some 'adventures in walking' between the couch and the bathroom, while staying upright on one leg
Only 23 more days to Santa

Here's to everyone going through a tough time. Hope things turn for the better for you all. The past seven weeks after my accident have not been easy for me and my beloved. I usually pitch in with cooking, baking, laundry etc, but being off of my feet, non weight bearing for all this time, it's frayed some nerves at times. Of course, me being a day at the beach, it's all good. 🙄😁
Last week, middle of the night, as I 'walked' into the bathroom, one of my crutches decided to make a bid for freedom and I crashed down on to my side. Took my breath away, as I feared the worst, my hip was ok, but it has a nice purple bruise on it. So we got a walker which is a bit more stable for me to use.
Today my son dropped by to pick me up and take me to our local big box store, groceries etc.
First day out in the fresh air, and my wheelchair is such a boon, getting around without the fear of falling was great.
Lots of wee smiles, and "Merry Christmas..." coming my way loo. I see my surgeon next Monday to check and see how I'm healing, x-rays, to determine whether it'll be another 6 weeks off my pins, or a walking boot, or cast fitted , hopefully it'll be a walking boot and I'll use the chair when heading out.
2025 has been a nightmare, and I'll be glad to see the back of it.
Anyway, look after yourselves and remember you are not alone in this fight. Best to everyone who is facing challenges. HH

Just home from the hospital and surgeon said everything has healed well
First steps today after seven weeks of no weight bearing
I am able to put weight on my foot now but my balance is way off due to my vertigo (Yes...thank you Lord for that...another little blessing) but I'll get there with my new footwear, a walking boot and I'll get a cane rather than the crutches
The little walk I did today, trying to walk normal was not pleasant as my stuff joints and lack of muscle tone after almost two months, let me know I'm not ready for the Olympics 😁
So, how's everybody doing ?
Best to you noisers

That is kind of good news. You will have to watch yourself as you be tempted to overdo things. Just no climbing big ladders in a blizzard wearing flip flops.

Take care and enjoy your Christmas.
