Where do you sit politically?

An auld hippy, who's on the left 😁

You'd fit right in here among the redwoods, TartanTim :D

Said it often on here: Unapologetically Left, lifelong socialist, always fighting the good fight. Currently working on getting this guy elected president -- that's Bernie and me in 1983 at the Socialist Party convention in New York, proving to all that both of us once had hair.

Check oot the above link. The media campaign against Corbyn is frightening. They have been out to get him ever since he became Labour Leader. If the right wing media are out to get him they must fear his policies.
If the Sunday Times hates you, then you must be doing something right.

Socialist that’s me..... but I’m conflicted..... I’m in a Labour run council which is fine...... all 51 councilors are Labour. Ma MP is Margaret Hodge, known her fir 25 years and she’s been great fir us......but I just dont like, don’t trust and don’t want Corbyn as PM.
So my hand is gonna tremble over that ballot paper. Hope I’ve not offended any staunch Corbynistas out there...... it’s only politics... not serious stuff like the footie
What is it you don't like about Corbyn? I only because the deal he's had in the press has been vicious, I hope you're not basing anything on what you've seen in horribly biased press. 👍
The alternative is Johnson. Does he look better? 😂

Ok I’ll try to explain. Firstly I am a fully paid up card holding member of the Labour Party and have been fir years. My husband was a labour councillor until he stood down last year due to having prostate cancer. We are both staunch union members and have both been shop stewards. My late mother God rest her soul was a staunch socialist and stood with the socialist workers at the siege of cable street in white chapel fighting Oswald Mosley and his black shirts and was arrested there. Our MP is a secular Jew, her description not mine. She has been bombarded with anti Semitic e mails from Corbyn supporters and Jews no longer feel safe to be members of the party. He had done absolutely nothing about it and anti Semitic members have not been removed from the party. My mother would be horrified to see how much anti Semitic rhetoric is being said and I have seen the evidence for myself.
I don’t think he’s got to lead the country I wouldn’t let him lead my dog around the park and it pains me to say it.
End of rant and I appreciate many in this site will disagree but I hope you will allow that I might disagree with you too. No offence intended

No offence taken, GG. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and you've just given us an interesting insight about how anti Semitic the Labour Party is. Food for thought, but I haven't voted Labour for a number of years now and I thought the Scottish Labour Party missed a trick by not separating from the rest during IndyRef and instead it joined up with the Tory bassas.

Thanks Shammy and I totally agree about the Scottish Labour Party, your quite right. I am so ashamed of the current labour front bench I don’t feel able to defend them any more and I have in the past. Dianne Abbott, Shamy Chakrabarti, Emily Thornberry have all had their children privately educated but now want to deny that right to others by closing private schools. Fir years Chakrabarti campaigned against the a House if Lords calling them an unelected elite they have no place in modern politics. Now she’s a baroness with her arse on one of those unelected elite seats it’s apparently a wonderful institution. They’re a bunch of hypocrites no different from the other mobs and I must be very naive because I thought they were different

Champagne Socialists, GG. Just like the privately educated Tories, the Labour party seems to be recruiting those who have nothing to offer the world of work and end up in politics.
Sad to say your 100% right and years ago I would have argued against it. I remember when the Labour Party was for the working man and represented by men and women who had done a days work and were of the working class themselves. Now they’re middle class Oxbridge graduates that come out of university, get a job with an MP do a stint as an activist for a year or two and get they’re name on a ballot paper in a safe seat. Never do a days graft and don’t know what it’s like to get they’re hands dirty.
Oh well it is what it is and now they’re promising the world, with money that haven’t got, say anything to get into number 10. Power at any price.
I come from generations of socialists. My uncle Dave was a communist. At his funeral his coffin was draped with the soviet flag, we sang the international and the red flag, wonder what he would name of it all. Still that’s politics for ye

I try not to discuss politics on here because its not what I'm here for, but occasionally I forget. Personally I'm sick of the lot of them and I certainly don't believe any political leaders have my best interest at heart, in fact I can say with great certainty that they don't give a fuck about me, because they don't know me.
I hate the devisiveness of party politics, you must be left wing or you must be right wing, it's all bollox. You can be what ever you want and you can be a mixture. I believe in capitalism, economically it works, I also believe in socialisim. So I'm both, if I'm able to go out and have opportunities to earn decent money it gives me the chance to help others, donate to charity and care for my friends and my community.
So whoever the self serving, full of shite, tell me anything to get my vote prick is in number 10 is it won't change me. The good thing is none of them are in power for very long.
