Meet the team behind The Celtic Way and Rangers Review sports news sites

FOOTBALL sites giving unrivalled coverage of Celtic and Rangers have officially launched today ahead of the new season.

The Celtic Way and Rangers Review will be a new companion for supporters of both clubs.
The websites will be run with a strong focus on fan culture and engagement with our journalists delivering insightful and entertaining content every day.

Created by Newsquest Scotland and a sister title of the Glasgow Times, Celtic Way will include veteran Parkhead writer Alison McConnell, Andy Bargh, Sean Martin, and Tony Haggerty.

The Rangers Review will be headed up by Joshua Barrie, Derek Clark, and editor Jonny McFarlane.

Jonny said: "The Celtic Way and Rangers Review are two exciting new digital brands that will allow our journalists to focus on bringing the kind of content demanded in 2021.
"Our sites will feature the best-written content, from deep dives into events of the past to big interviews and tactical analysis.
"We will have a major multimedia focus and video reaction is a key part of what we do morning briefing broadcast rounding up the big talking points will go out every day as our team analysis what the news might mean for the club they cover.
"Podcast documentaries on big games from the past allow us to delve into the defining moments fans will never forget and bring a fresh perspective to those golden memories.”
He added: "The Rangers Review will begin this series with a detailed look at Rangers momentous Scottish Cup semi-final victory in 2016 while The Celtic Way will focus on the Hoops' stunning 6-2 victory at Parkhead in 2000. Both managers at the time, Mark Warburton and Martin O'Neill feature on the productions alongside players who featured on the day.
"A key part of our offering will be tactical analysis and to ensure we have the best content in Scotland we have teamed up with market leaders Stats Bomb as our data provider.

"Their stats and graphics allow us to delve into the aspects of each match in granular detail, allowing us to bring you stories that might otherwise have gone untold.
"Opinions remain a huge part of what makes our game so compelling, and we have assembled a brilliant team of writers to bring you their perspective on the events of the day. You won't always agree but we're sure they will add to the debates of the day.
"The websites will put the fan first in the content we produce and will always keep that positive perspective front and centre, never forgetting what brought us all to this industry in the first place - our shared passion for the beautiful game."

Alison said: “It is a privilege to be asked to be part of an exciting new project that looks to deliver exceptional quality and content.
"The Celtic Way will offer scope for analysis and depth and provides a broad spectrum for an in-depth look at everything around the club."

I’ve been watching a fair few podcasts wae Hamish Calton of 67 Hail Hail on YouTube. He’s no bad…..anybody else watch this podcast. Any comments?

Whit aboot you David? Anything you can add here?…

I got banned from Kerrydale St for daring to say to a yank to stop believing their own BS. They might be the riches country in the world but they aren't in the top three highest standard of living which goes to the three Scandinavian countries who are all socialist countries.
I didn't know at the time that Kerrydale St platform was run from the good old USA.

I watch Hamish on You Tube as well. He is the best of the Celtic You Tubers and has some good guests on his show. I’ve saw Scott McDonald on it a few times.
Joe Ledley has been on a few times as well.

Sorry man never saw your post, I have not seen SP for months. I’ve messaged him and text him a few times but never heard back. The fact that he never posted after we pumped the Sevvies in the LCF was a wee bit worrying. Even after not being on for ages he would always post after beating Sevco.
Will try to contact him again this weekend. I met up with him a few times and had a good laugh with him.
Wherever ye are Paul, I hope you are well.

I thought you maybe have some idea of where he likes to go for a drink or something.

In answer to the original question.
The more clicks they get the more they get paid for and attract adverts. This one included. I have an adblocker on my chromebook but not on my phone, its a pain in the arse. I get they have to make money as theres no paywall subscription on here. I don't mind it so much as these things cost to set up and maintain. But the likes of Celtic Way and the other SMSN I try and avoid like the plague.
Nothings really free on the interweb. WE pay for everything by letting them use our data and sell it on.
