Letter to Major Sponsors of Celtic Football Club

Dear Valued Sponsors,

We, the Celtic Support, are writing to express our deep appreciation for your continued partnership with Celtic Football Club and to acknowledge the first-class quality of your products and services. Your commitment to our club is highly valued, and we recognize the significant role your support plays in its success.

However, we must inform you of our current decision to refrain from purchasing your products. This action is not a reflection of your brand or the quality you provide but is instead a response to ongoing concerns with the Celtic Board’s lack of effective communication with the Celtic Support and their inability to complete incoming transfers in a timely manner to refresh and replenish the playing squad.

The Celtic Support has always been a cornerstone of the club, demonstrating unwavering loyalty and financial commitment. However, the Board’s failure to engage meaningfully with supporters and address critical squad needs has led to widespread frustration. We believe that timely and strategic investment in the playing squad is essential to maintain the club’s competitive edge and uphold the values that make Celtic a global institution.

We respectfully urge you, as major sponsors, to recognize the importance of a strong relationship between the Celtic Board and its supporters. Should the Board meet the reasonable demands of the Celtic Support for improved communication and effective transfer policies, we are confident that our passionate fan base would once again demonstrate our tremendous value to your products and the club’s financial success.

We look forward to a resolution that allows us to resume our enthusiastic support for both Celtic Football Club and its esteemed sponsors.

Yours sincerely,
The Celtic Support

It seems like a strange plan to me.

I cant see how it would help.

If their revenues drop they will dilute the amounts they pay club.

And I seriously doubt they will give a hoot what Celtic boards signing policy is.
They might just drop club and let them find a lesser brand without really losing any real revenues in bigger picture.

Does their brand need Celtic?

Probably not.

Point is it might actually damage club rather than get shot of board.

The wage budget for me is the stumbling block on getting better players over the threshold.

The problem of getting good enough players signed early enough can only be rectified by paying wages good enough players require.

And giving good enough players the wage they require can and does need income good enough to sustain that and grow or you will stall quickly and decline fast.

I really dont see how contacting sponsors to say we demand better players or we arent buying your stuff helps increase income or gets shot of board.

If you dont want to buy stuff dont.
If you want shot of board go to agm and demand board get booted by being loud enough with better plan and who you think can acheive the better plan.

imo

Sponsors will just offer lesser deal going forward or just drop club to some other sponsor

If you dont want to support current club system dont go to games and spend your time doing something you enjoy better.

Contact sponsors if you think it will help acheive your better plan. But i really dont think it will make a blind bit of difference.

hey there Celtic board this is your sponsor

get your board changed or else

just seems weird to me

Not replacing players in a timely manner has damaged the club to the tune of 10's of millions of pounds. That's unarguable. The threat of losing, or believing major sponsorship's may go south might just be the catalyst that's needed to force change. With the Celtic Board it has become more than obvious that it's all about the money.
The wage budget for me is the stumbling block on getting better players over the threshold.

Other clubs with less income than ours manage to find quality players. Our scouting system needs to be upgraded imo.
The problem of getting good enough players signed early enough can only be rectified by paying wages good enough players require.
Refer above. It is also apparent our youth coaching set up needs overhauling. We need to bring in new people with fresh modern ideas, and we need to show our young players they have a pathway to the first team if they are good enough.
And giving good enough players the wage they require can and does need income good enough to sustain that and grow or you will stall quickly and decline fast.
We have circa 100 Million pounds in the bank. This would suggest a successful Celtic team can support a squad of players paying them a decent wage. Speculating to accumulate in a well thought out and innovative manner can be done. Other clubs are doing it. If the right people are put in place I have no doubt we can do the same.
I really dont see how contacting sponsors to say we demand better players or we arent buying your stuff helps increase income or gets shot of board.
It's an obvious way of pressurising the Board in to changing some of their outdated business practices. They are a PLC and they are obligated by law to be seen to be doing the right thing by shareholders. A potential large drop in income due to a highly dissatisfied customer base could cause the Board major problems. The hedge funds in particular would not be impressed. If you're looking to force change - it will all be about the money.
If you dont want to buy stuff dont.
That's always people's prerogative.
If you want shot of board go to agm and demand board get booted by being loud enough with better plan and who you think can acheive the better plan.
The Support wants a Board that will effectively communicate and change certain business practices, especially when it comes to getting incoming transfers done. It's nonsensical to think we can go to an AGM and get shot of the Board. That's a numbers game and the Support don't have the numbers. Money is the key to forcing change.
imo

Sponsors will just offer lesser deal going forward or just drop club to some other sponsor

That will only happen if the Board refuse to take the necessary steps that will appease the genuine grievances of the Support. Those that sponsor Celtic do so in the knowledge they are going to get an excellent return on their sponsorship. They wont be in a hurry to see that go, so I would expect them to have a discussion with the Celtic Board as to how the current problem could be resolved. Once again, it's all about the money.
If you dont want to support current club system dont go to games and spend your time doing something you enjoy better.
An obvious choice, but some would rather be seen to attempting to change things for the better.
Contact sponsors if you think it will help acheive your better plan. But i really dont think it will make a blind bit of difference.
Your opinion and you're entitled to it.

Im fully agreed with all your points

Board need to go

Just dont see point of asking sponsors to change board.

Getting players to sign is easy.

Getting players to sign who are better than you have on budget thats not very attractive to players who are of calibre we need is very difficult for next board as well as current board.

At no point have I ever said Current board done well enough to keep their jobs in my expectations

We should defo have had players in earlier but I doubt they would have been CL level players on wages we can afford for long term

get board to feck

Silence
Signing Rodgers again after his antics then giving him no real high quality signings
No having good youth plan
Not addressing problems on pitch fas enough.

get them to feck

writing letters to sponsors to tell them you are buying their stuff anymore till you help get shot of board sounds like a stupid plan

Who is the next board?
What is their remit?
How are they gonna afford the wages of even better players and sustain it?

Im all for change
But I hope its a change for better team long term.

Solving problem of this board might not solve the issues because I dont think the board is the real underlying problem. I think underlying problem is income from tv to afford long term sustainable higher wages.

And contacting sponsors arent going to be bothered who board is imo.

just like Celtic board probably dont care who board of sponsors are.

But go ahead tell the sponsors if you think it will help

I dont think it makes sense or will make any difference.

only thing agm shareholders will be interested in is who is better and whats the better plan.

I think if you read again the points I previously made, I covered what you're iterating here.

Out of conversations, occasionally we may arrive at solutions. We shall see. No problems though. It's all about opinions.

He’s not asking adidas to change the board??that’s just nonsensical…it’s about bad publicity for both celtic and adidas which neither would want!!..then maybe arses will get kicked and action taking to avoid that….

OK explain to me what your wanting emails to addidas to acheive?

Love your stuff
But cant buy it anymore because I think Celtic board need sacked
And in protest Im not buying your stuff.

If this was a ub open letter to sevco sponsor would you find it funny? or would you say oh wow brilliant idea lets do that to our club sponsors

And maybe we will get sponsor with badges stuck on by mehmet in turkish mall instead.

If its not about asking them to help hijack current board whats the letter about?

Sevco paid fortune bringing in a whole pile of mediocrity but did it quite quick mostly then spent 10 million on young boy with no experience to play as CF at end of window

They have new board every other year

And every other year they too get worse team on pitch

Its the inflation in wages imo

apparently Sterling available

might take a pay cut

im no even sure he would be great fit for us but who knows

But at 300+ k per week he really aint a good fit
And I cant see him coming here even if he was willing to take major paycut

And i doubt next board will solve that problem either
