What places other than Celtic Park would you recommend visiting in Bonnie Scotland for those with a week or so to spare.

What’s the best places to visit up the Highlands? Scenic drives? The Lochs, etc.

Best place to hire a car in Glasgow? Restaurants? Hotels?

Any tips and info appreciated

don't forget the midges!

Midges are to be avoided at all cost, best way IMHO, 2 weeks before you travel start a one a day course of oderless garlic capsules and take one each day while you are here, works a treat.

For a scenic drive, I find the road North through Glencoe a lovely drive, much better although longer than the more direct A9.

I would suggest a visit to Sky, off the west coast, and perhaps a trip to Dingwall on the east , that is also a beauty of a drive. between the 2. Coincidentally I'm in Dingwall at the moment for a few days RnR, so maybe biased ?. Loads of beautiful places to visit within a short drive, Loch Ness (they will have to time it right to see the monster though), Culloden, scene of a battle between England and Scotland. And for shopping its near Inverness. Plenty other options, but they are my personal favourites.

Went to a place called Malaig when I was 15. Went with my mate and his family on a wee tour around the highlands. Always sticks in my mind. Wasnt much there but the beach we parked up next to was out of this world beautiful.
It was a sunny day. Golden sands and when the tide was out you could walk onto a little stone island. Remember me and my mate sitting out there drinking beers (sneaked them from his dad) till the sun went down. Then had to walk back through the water, waste high in the dark. Amazing

Me and the Mrs visit Perthshire on a regular basis. Try the House of Bruar, 20 mins North of Pitlochry, for some retail therapy and great food. A walk round the Falls of Bruar will give your friends an appetite.

That’s a great area Weedoc the falls are a great place to see and reminds me the Falls of Dochart and the whole of Loch Tay.
Oh and give East Lothian a visit you will not regret it. It’s where the Flag of Scotland was born, Preston Mills. Dunbar , North Berwick. And sadly like Palladin age is at the wrong end. As an ex miner I’m getting nearer the hole in the ground again ????

HH ?
