The old match thread (hijacked) Now just another Brown thread

Every domesitc games is a must win game always has been regardless ogf the team shape and condition, Celtic do not sit in so for a team that like to attack the defence needs to start from the front to middle to back.

Eddie last night running about defending, picking up in the middle and high pressing were has this been, was he selling himself in Europe, we expect this from him now we know its in his locker and he is tied to us for the domestics as Europe is gone so no excuses he can run and defend so play the high press at the weekend and capatilse on the mistakes.

Rogic goal came from the press causing a lapse in the Milan defence to clear and onto it in a flash, first to every loose ball and we coast it, the midfield if they keep a shape can assist the defence particular the flanks close the ball out wide getting tighter to the intended pass giving him less time to bring it down and bring it under control and cut the long pass through the middle double up on the long pass.

McGregor needs to be told he is no longer playing for Scotland and get his sharp crisp passing and goals back, get Clarkes system out his head. Christie has the energy but has to put less force on his crosses to the back, hang the ball in the airwe have big guys who can challenge in the air, Eddie is no slouch for the cross if meaured, we can beat any team in this division if we play as a team and keep the shape regardless if we lose a goal, believe and we will be back again.
Well said boab

Silly idea but is seems that our biggest problem in domestic games is a low block. If I was king for a day I would use the remaining training sessions to put all our defenders makeing the numbers up to include 9 or 10 men behind the ball in a low block and have 4 or 5 of our forward players, camped in and around the edge of the area shooting from outside the block, or practice playing through this packed defence. Looking to feed off any rebounds. We are predictable in that we try to use width to put in inaccurate crosses from the wings for a low lying block of defenders when we only have 1 man in the box who gets overwhelmed by a very large bus. Too predictable.

This session would try our defenders, goalkeeper, and give chances to players to try to do something different other than to try walk it into the net, especially when we don't feel like walking. Just an idea.
But a good idea V

You tell me who is a better ball winner than Broony? He has carried the team ever since he joined us. You slag him but never give an alternative to take his place.
Soro or Bitton should be ahead of him as the holding MF, btw Brown hasn't been winning many tackles in MF this season at all.

Tell me, who has been winning tackles. If Soro can, then play him. Lennon should have made a hard tackling Broony type player a priority this preseason and he didn't
Lenny is too spineless to drop Brown indefinitely & that's the problem that's been facing players like Soro or Bitton getting a run in his position all season. Weak management.

Bittons played in defence because of injuries, Soro's jist back fae his honeymoon 🍺 🥳
Soro has been on the bench all season, what about before his honeymoon when he was fit to play every match?

There were spells when Jullien/Duffy/Ajer were all fit at CB & Bitton was still being neglected as a holding MF option.

Again, I asked you to list the points you personally believed were indicative to the topic in question that you had previously raised. For whatever reason you didn’t? couldn’t? wouldn’t?

How hard is it for you to explain in your own words, in layman’s terms, what your personal views are on the specific topic you had previously put forward to support your position/argument? Perplexing isn’t it!

How else am I, or anyone else interested, going to understand where you’re coming from, if you are quite clearly reluctant to personally explain yourself?

If you can answer the relevant points I’ve made without referring me to a 30 min video that would be nice. If you can’t, well......

Scott Brown is basically playing at a similar or slightly lower level now to Gary Dicker at Kilmarnock every week in terms of performance levels, what more evidence do you need that it's time Brown was dropped?

Have ye seen them in training?
