Charlie Wykes is this the type of striker we need

Just spoke with a mate who is a Sunderland season ticket holder to ask his thoughts on Wykes, his answer he is a carthorse very slow and cumbersome and won't be sad to see him go.He also says he is strong in the air, if you get cross balls to him he will put them away.Overall league one is his level what do you Bhoys think.

Wouldn't be a player that would impress me jinky, and thought that would be a fair summary upon him.
Saying that with the game being such a squad game he could still give us another option in some games where we have lacked someone to get onto the end of crosses as some of our forwards like to play like Dracula with been afraid of crosses

No from me sadly
The Manager will get no time to assess what’s there the time he needs is now gone
And we’re buying/bringing in players who we don’t even know if he wants them.
This is the Legacy of Peter Lawwell and Dermot and his Trumpettes of a board.
not just the 10 feck up. Imagine paying a CEO over £3 million a year and when he leaves he leaves a complete Chernobyl type meltdown of disaster from 💩to a bigger pile o 💩 we’re now shopping in the Poundland equivalent of the 99p bin.

He's a Free, so it's more like shopping in the free stuff section on gumtree🤣🤣🤣

He is a 3rd rate lower league journeyman. If that is the 'quality' we are signing then they are truly taking the piss. I seen a bit of Wyke at Carlisle and Bradford and he was poor, even at League 1/League 2 level. There's a reason he's never played at a higher level.
If this rumour turns out to be true then I think it just shows we have no recruitment process at the club and rely on agents trying to punt their clients to the club.
With each passing day, and each passing rumour, we are not getting the rebuild many think we will get, and more think that we need. We'll sign a collection of cheap punts, free transfers and loan signings and nothing will change at the top except the face of the CEO.

Lets not forget this is clickbait nonsense. All these stories are just bollox.
I would have McGeady back as he's out of contract and I think there's still another Season in him. We may see a few players that Ange has worked with and are unknown to us. He should be aware if he has players someone else has chosen and foisted on him it's HIS neck on the block.
Now that PL has gone hopefully there won't be that kind of interference.

I hope to christ this is a load of shit. 2024 and champions league money goes through the roof for us. We need to start looking at 23/24 year olds now with a view to peaking then. Bin the short termism and think like a european club, with euro ambition. Domestic game will take care of itself if we adopted a mindset beyond the Scottish Premiership. What other side in CL qualifiers would consider this guy? If answer is none we are wise to steer clear
