Partick Thistle v Celtic. Scottish cup match thread

We didn't look any more solid with this formation, through the middle. Easily exposed again on a few occasions with simple balls over the top. Maybe soro is the answer but I highly doubt it and wonder who he's going to keep out the team. On the positive, Klimala looked bright enough. Interesting...

    Forrest

For me, Tavernier and their RW seemed to get past Boli far too easily, Tavernier was practically holding him off with one hand, and we've seen in games gone by how many goals he can cost the huns when he's got at. Sadly I don't see Boli as a massive improvement on izaguirre.

Celtic v the Rangers - Black Sunday 29 December, kick-off 12.30pm (merged with Provisional thread)

January important but when do we ever react? I'm expecting a similar window to last year's where we flood the team with loan players in attempt to plug the gaps and get over the line. We've spent the £Ms in the summer. Almost goes without saying but don't expect big reaction from Lawwell etc...

    The Inquest

I think the myth we have "strength in depth" was busted today. The bench was uninspiring - Griffiths still looks miles off it, rogic nowhere near the team, Hayes. Arrogance did play a part today. Turn up and we'll win attitude. They've got us sussed at the moment and we don't appear to have an...

How is it they've got Croatias left back and we've ended up with a combination of boli and Hayes as our first choice, with Taylor apparently not good enough?

Absolutely. Manager takes the blame. Trying the same thing again and again but expecting different outcomes. Bringing on Griffiths and punting it was dinosaur stuff.

We're at out best on the counter. When we're allowed the ball the back 4 get it the most and then panic. Long balls and loss of possession follows. And we've watched this not only against the huns in recent weeks!

This team's had plenty of praise since the Cluj exit. Qualifying top of that group and the wins over lazio were magic. But the huns have done a number over us tactically that those teams didn't the last two games. Its now up to us to change it. Huns are better than they were in September.

Don't forget the panicked long-ball punt to naebdy when the pressures on!

There has to be some recognition by the management that tactically we were done and were in the LC final as well. All well and good us criticising the players but what was their orders? Beat 3 men in front of you every time you get the ball in their half? It felt like we were relying on...

We're in trouble. Saw too many soft touches and on the pitch today. The Griffiths sub and performance was laughable. Relying on a 18yo right back who started playing professionally this season to launch every attack. Senior players and Manager did nothing to address it apart from back 3 10 mins...

    What to do with Ntcham?

Conflicted over the Ntcham question. His performances have been erratic at best, going from dominating games to totally abject and I know a lot of the support had him binned after the 29th, although almost to a man we we were rotten on the day. To me, he's a young player whose...

Becoming weaker from a position of strength

Unfortunately I think it is the beginning of the end. Lennon, in his first job as a manager, walked because he was frustrated with the lack of backing and improvement in squad. Rodgers won't stand for it either.

Becoming weaker from a position of strength

Mulumbu is in to give Brown a rest. Possibly to give extra dig alongside him in certain games, maybe against the huns. The Armstrong replacement was mcginn.

Becoming weaker from a position of strength

I struggle to find a positive from this window. The board and whatever calls itself the PR department need to stop insulting the fans collective intelligence. Our net spend from last season sits at a fat £0. Rodgers will be realising he's found the glass ceiling he was most likely warned about...
