Callum McGregor Injury

Ange has said that he is going to see a specialist about his knee and that the injury isn't a short term one. :(
From Sky:
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is warning captain Callum McGregor's knee injury is "fairly significant" and warns it will not be a "short-term" absence.
The midfielder was forced off during Wednesday night's Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig in Germany and will see a specialist on Friday.
He would have missed Celtic's game at St Johnstone on Saturday, live on Sky Sports, through suspension but now faces a wait to see just how long he will be out for.

At the time I thought it was absolute madness for CalMac to go back onto the pitch. Having suffered a lot of problems with my knee I could tell straight away he had opened the joint up and probably caused a tear to his cruciate. By continuing to play on he risked further injury or even rupturing it completely. I hope it isn't too serious and he can get to training in a few weeks time but if may take much longer to heal depending upon the severity of the injury. Now we need the other players to step up and lead. I'm assuming Joe Hart will deputise as captain until MacGregor returns.

Hart will be captain. I would rather an outfield player but there are no obvious candidates amongst the regulars. CCV or Taylor maybe?

I hope he’s not out for too long as he’s a smashing player. Really hoping this proves to be an opportunity for the whole team to take more responsibility.

The unwillingness to rest CalMac doesn’t sit well with me. Firstly because it means he’s probably more likely to get injured, and I’m not blaming Ange there.

Mainly, because I think he becomes relied on and we see it as a disaster or we’re less of a team when he doesn’t play. That’s letting others off the hook for me. If he’s not there, hopefully only a few games, it really could be the making of this team.
