Lest we forget

At 3pm on Sunday, the only thing I want to know is that we left nothing on the field. That we turned up early and we squeezed out every ounce of effort and every drop of sweat........there will likely be a spattering of blood too!

Despite the last two results, in recent matches against the ingrate pretenders - we haven't always turned up on time and we've let them get the upper hand early in games.

That would be unforgivable on Sunday.

We are better in every department. We are more skilled. We are more fluent. We have more individual talent and we are more creative. However - we have to challenge them physically and be prepared to dig in and fight for every loose ball and 50/50.

As previously - we will have no friends or kindly benefactors. Whatever we achieve will be done off of our own steam and through our own efforts. The officials will conveniently miss those mistimed and calculated challenges. They will overlook the rake down an Achilles or six and they will be blind to overly-intimate touching of our players genitalia.

The manager and players will surely know this and it is their duty and responsibility to ensure that dirty tricks and dark craft will not dictate the result of this match.

Whilst I believe we must play our own game, the last match showed that we require more presence in midfield. We were outnumbered and overrun at Hampden and it is too much to insist that our skipper should quell their over-enthusiasm by himself.

We have big game players and these same players have to stand up and be counted from minute one.

No doubt they are tired, weary and drained, but the energy provided by a partisan crowd should invigorate our players for one last gut-busting effort before they receive a well-earned break.

Whatever the outcome on Sunday, the title will neither be won nor lost; however - a comprehensive performance and result will deal a huge psychological blow to a fledgling team who have never tasted significant success. The same defiant and delusional noises are being emitted from the serial losers. History (however insignificant their history is) has taught them nothing, but we have to show that we have learned valuable lessons ourselves and use that education to good effect on Sunday.

At 12.30, we must treat them with whatever respect they deserve. By 2.30, we should be mocking them with the contempt they have more than earned over their short lifespan.

No fear. No hiding place. No regrets. No quarter given, none asked.

It's all about The Celtic
