CELTIC… 3
(Ewens 24, Craig 67, Ross, 73)

HIBERNIAN… 0

CELTIC Women’s team recorded an emphatic 3-0 over Hibernian at the weekend to go second in the league. Goals from Sarah Ewens, Chloe Craig and Natalie Ross gave the Hoops all three points and their first win over Hibs since October 2013.

It was Eddie Wolecki Black’s side who started on the front foot and Josephine Giard was unlucky not to convert a Keeva Keenan cross after just seven minutes.

But they did get the breakthrough on 24 minutes when Sarah Ewens latched on to a ball over the top from Kirsty McLaughlin before gliding past the Hibs keeper and slotting the ball into the net.

Both sides continued to press forward in search of a goal, although the Hoops maintained their lead going into the second-half.

And it was Chloe Craig who fired home Celtic’s second goal on the 67th minute. She headed McLaughlin’s corner on to the bar but was first to react to the rebound, and knocked it into the Hibs net to make it 2-0.

Just six minutes later, Celtic made sure of the win when Natalie Ross slotted the ball home to give the Hoops a 3-0 win.

Eddie Wolecki Black’s side will be in action next Thursday, May 15, at K-Park, East Kilbride (KO: 7pm).

CELTIC: Cunningham, Keenan, O'Neill (Black), Crosbie, Craig, Cairney (Donaldson), Clark, Ross (Hay), McLaughlin, Giard, Ewens.
Unused: Hodges, Hare
