Young Luca at LB?

Not sure lenny will drop him. Doesnt want to show hes made a mistake signing him or believes that he may just come good.
It's the only reason I can think he got 90 minutes last night.
We should actually be grateful that he was out of position all night cos if he was where he was supposed to be the chances are he would have made a terrible tackle and got a second booking.

Everybody knows he’s made an utter ballsup. If he compound it by letting his ego play him, he’s made a ballsup twice. Well three times, keeping him on was his second.

This where I'd like the opinion of someone that has watched him properly at Bolton to chip in.
I have very limited knowledge of him but there was a thread a while back on him so I watched all the hilights of Bolton he played in. Not the best way to do it but there was nothing else online to look at.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say Luca can't play LB. Not at the level of senior football.

He played deeper in midfield for them as a creative passing outlet from what I seen so they were calling him a defensive mid.
I praised his wand of a left foot, but defensively he was nowhere.
I accepted comments that he was 18 and there must be something about him for the praise he has been given before joining us.
Facts were that out of the 18 or so goals against he was directly at fault or played a part in 10 of them.
Reasons were
-weak on the ball
-poor positioning
-weak tackling
-poor technique when shaping up for a tackle
- severe lack of pace to the point were players at medium/low speed dribbling the ball were getting away from him
- allowed players to travel with the ball in any direction they wanted and didn't close space.

That might sound like a horrific review, mabey it is. Keep in mind these were hilights of a Bolton team in peril.

Mind everyone's response to boli's youtube reel? There wasnt one tackle in it. Guys on here were saying he looks more like a robust winger, hope he can defend.

It's early days for both of them. I have no shame in admitting I have early concerns about having to rely on them as LB options.

Hayes isn't the answer but right now, because he can get stuck in and make a challange looks to be a better option.

I'd invite anyone who says "but he is listed as being able to cover LB" to do as I did. Go on transfermrkt find the games he played in, write them down, watch them on YouTube then give me a shout.

I honestly think clubs were looking at him because of that left peg. Not because they wanted a young defensive mid or a lb

I’m not for a minute saying Hayes or Luca are the answer. They are a better option on Bolis lack of form. That’s disastrous that we have to look at them and it’s down to Fucking about and failing to recognise we need to pay the going rate. Lawell exists in a word of budgets that in no way reflect the price of quality.

We fail to secure the CL and lose to Sevco because our defence has an open door then we have learned fuck all.

We are the biggest threat to us moving forward as usual.

I was just answering the title of the thread. There is no doubt we need to bring someone in. I'm not sure boil is even 100% yet so asking him do do 90mins today and Tuesday might be a bit much. If lenny plans to involve him in the return leg I'd give him 30mins 2nd half for Hayes or visa versa. I don't want him picking up a niggle mid game so we can save our subs for mf forward

Why play someone at all that the manager called a work in progress? Why the fuck as we still buying people who can’t hit the ground running? Oh wait, they cost more. That’s it. There is too much at stake to take risks with players who arent at it and hope he will come good.

That is a disgrace, but because we have fucked about and not brought in another LB we are stuck with him or Hayes for the CL.

Nobody will ever convince me that’s good planning. And it shouldn’t convince anyone else. We have been here too many times and if we crash out of the CL again because we fail to do what is required then Lawell needs to be chased down London rd.

Voli is actually worse than a man down. I would give young Luca a run out on Saturday. He played LB can pass a baw and gets tore in.

Considering my cat could do better than Boli, I would give him a chance. If not him then Hayes is a cert.
On the house may your cat shite freely wherever it goes.
