Celtic v the Rangers - Black Sunday 29 December, kick-off 12.30pm (merged with Provisional thread)

There has to be some recognition by the management that tactically we were done and were in the LC final as well. All well and good us criticising the players but what was their orders? Beat 3 men in front of you every time you get the ball in their half?

It felt like we were relying on individual quality rather than a game plan involving the whole team to win the game.

Neil Lennon has a lot to answer for here. He waited 80 minutes before taking Christie off who was fuckin useless, possibly because Lennon was tinkering with the fuckin team this last few games and playin him out of position. Forrest looks like he has a 50kg bag of sand in the arse of his shorts. An absolute fuckin disgrace. As for bolingoli, he's out of his depth. Mickey Johnstone needs to hit the weights room, too easily pushed off the ball.
We've all laughed our heads off at Gerrard on here, myself included, but he has tactically out thought Lennon this season. He's outmanoeuvred him with a team of dirth. Fuckin ragin......... I think I'm gonna close myself in a room with a punchbag for an hour or so........

Not gonna be knee jerk about this.

Whats the story with the pitch? It wasn’t great, surely this hybrid pitch we spent millions on, that had a disease when first installed, is fixed by now?

Sevco had the momentum from the start and only in parts did we put pressure on them. They’ve been in Europe too, so no excuse on tiredness.

Forrest hasn’t played well for weeks, but there’s no real replacement for him. Him, Christie and Johnson weren’t really in the game, and brown & McGregor surely are the guys to battle and give them the springboard to attack. As much as I love brown, he can be prone to sitting too deep on our defenders, probably at having no faith in his pace. When it’s going well, he’s immense, when it’s not, he can look like a passenger. A tough call is coming soon surely. And that means spending big.

Ajer needs to stop going to ground way too quick. It’s great when it comes off, same for Jullien, but they’re prone to being caught out trying to look clever. They’re needing a steady head in there to get them back going, this is too big a club to be learning on the job.

why was Frimpong playing within himself for so long? He done a couple of shimmies then just passed back. He should’ve had that young bravery to just go for it and I’m sure he’d have panicked them and at least won fouls.

they’ll be getting hardons for days from this. I keep hearing about how superior we are. Especially on TCB, about how crap Gerrard is and his win ratio. They’ve done well in Europe, could be a point in front if they win they’re game in hand, and out the last 5 games only once have we shown up and I didn’t actually think we were as good as folk made out.

if we’re knackered, then Lennon should be managing that better!

Absolutely right. It seemed to be try to dribble past your opponents rather than the fast neat triangles and interplay that we usually use to devastating effect. It was far too pedestrian and let them organise their defence properly. They played to their strengths and got their tactics correct - ours were wrong and not enough fight in there.

Don't forget the panicked long-ball punt to naebdy when the pressures on!

See if I was a hun reading all of this.....

Let's no forget we won 2-0 at their minging ground a few months back.
H fuckin H
That's the thing outclass them at ipox a few months ago, then the cup final and today we were crap. Can't explain how we can go to dominating them at ipox to today. But on the upside they've not won anything yet. Remember they are a new club starting out so I guess they will get freak wins here and there. HH.

I’m not gonae kneejerk, already getting the “u’s are never winning the league” pish. They deserved to win, but still maintain that they will run outta steam at some point.

Hopefully this will be the kick in the arse from the players upto the boardroom that we needed. Keep the faith and let them enjoy it,it will make it sweeter in May!!!!

This team's had plenty of praise since the Cluj exit. Qualifying top of that group and the wins over lazio were magic. But the huns have done a number over us tactically that those teams didn't the last two games. Its now up to us to change it. Huns are better than they were in September.

For some reason it looks like we're scared of playing them, god knows what's caused that. We beat them at ipox but that was on the counter, huns had most of the possession, cup final they were all over us, then today, we looked tentative, lacked confidence and believe, didn't play to our strengths and deserved to lose, What's changed??
I'm not going to start condemning the players or the manager because we've been great this season but we're not turning up against the huns, the reason for that needs to be found and resolved or we're in for a very uncomfortable season.

For as shite as we were, we still had more shots, more possession, 2 off the line, a penalty miss and Forster didnt really have a save to make......yes we were pish but on the whole, we made them look decent with our sloppyness
Funny how they had the brains to put a man on the line for corners and we didn't. Who the fuck is in charge of our defensive set up for corners? Lennon? Kennedy? Duff? I don't fuckin know, but whoever it is should be fuckin chased down the road.
