Saw his kid play in the U-21 tournament last year. Watched him in 2 games when sat in a bar on holiday.

The conversation revolved around the kid's ability - he's a player, make no mistake. Temperamental and prone to inconsistency apparently, but he's young, and definitely got some of his father's class in his feet. Plays like an energised Rogic.

That's a good signing if they get him. I'd have welcomed a punt on him from Celtic.

Watched him in the same tourney looked a player, but when your bought for 8m and punted out on loan after 6mths with an option to buy (4m) something ain't right and this is from a team currently 6th in the Belgian league.
 
Transfer season obviously, and numerous stories to sell papers and ad space!

benkovic is being mentioned again, and although he looked a classy defender, he also looked injury prone. Not what we need right now. A lot of folk in the media saying we need a CB, and folk here probably wouldn’t disagree, but if it wasn’t for injuries, we’re well covered. I’d say we need to shift before we buy, or go with a quality loan for the 9 that will actually be on the pitch to help. We have Jullien and Ajer, bucked up by jozo and now bitton. We also have Elhamed who looks well accomplished there, when fit (that’s why you got him for that price Neil). Frimpong looks like he could cover RB if Elhamed played CB, but he’s also injured. Obviously jozo is injured, goes without saying as that’s been a couple of weeks he’s played. I’d be up for shifting him on giving his injury issues. Like rogic, he just isn’t fit often enough to keep around, and it’s not as if he’s immense to be worth keeping.

wingers are currently being mentioned. Elyounoussi on the left and Forrest on the right seem to be our first picks, but Elyounoussi is injured, probably longer than he was fit at this stage? We have cover in Johnston for him, who’s also injured, long term now by sounds of it. Hayes could cover left, but he splits opinion, I like him myself. Nothing fancy, but then he hardly gets a game. Boli could also cover that along with taylor, depending if we play 3 or 4 at the back. A lot of mention in the past about eddy playing there, but hard to imagine he’ll no be up front now. Lennon seems to be shifting towards a 3-5-2 rather than the 4-2-3-1. Griff could probably play there. Personally I think there’s scope for going 4-3-3.If everyone was fit, there’s loads of players to play a few formations.

right wing there’s Forrest, Christie can play there and then there shved, well who knows what the story is there. There also arzani, and I reckon Frimpong is suited there.The way we play, we could have wingers swap wings without any real issues. And there’s also oko flex and dembele, surely they’re old enough now for game time if injuries are opening spaces? Hard to imagine they’re not far off where Frimpong is at?

strikers seem covered now, and midfield now looks like it’s a done deal now (I’ve now lost the will to finish writing this) By changing formation the AM seems to now be fairly redundant, but we have ntcham Christie and forrrst, not to mention a striker dripping back to take it up if needed in a 1 up front.

basically, I don’t think we’re bringing in anyone tomorrow. Certainly no experienced players that will improve the first team anyway. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised though. Thinking it through, we’ve got loads of players at the club the now, and a fair chunk are on the treatment table. The sensible option would be 2/3 real quality loans to push for the 9 while folk are injured, unless we’re punting folk. Id love to see us buy an absolute beast for the midfield who would scare the living daylights out of the opposition, but hard to imagine anyone coming in now Soro has arrived. Wanyama looks like paper talk now.

you know what, now I come to think about it. Championship winning teams are all about the strength in depth. I hope the fucking board are bringing in 4 folk tomorrow to get the 9, then the March to 10!
 
I don't know what sort of game we would have to be playing to require boli and Taylor both on the park. Rare Euro night to see out mins?
Defending and awareness are those skills that players seem to just have and by the time they reach senior level football it's got to be something solid in your skillset to hold that position at a big club.
Boli had free reign at his last club to bomb up and down. We need him to tuck in and seamlessly shift. He simply doesn't have the footballing brain , the short weighted pass or man marking ability to give us what we want.
Lenny said that he has taken him out the squad so that he can find form in training which suggests he has been pish in training as well. Alarm bells again.
I'd go with Taylor and Hayes now on the left..naebody else left but I think it could be a decent pairing in a 433. Eggs in baskets.
If Shved isn't going to play then top loan deal winger needs brought in now.
MJ is dusted. Is Forrest our only recognised fit winger unless I'm missing someone?

For our CB dilemma. Ajer and judge Jules seem weather worn and capable to carry the can. None of the rest are. It starts to get scary makeshift if one of them drops out.
I'd back more money on a lcb with a bit of pace than anything right now.
With the drop in and drop out players in our squad we can't field Lenny's 3-5-2 he likes and I'm conscious of him mibi trying it when he shouldn't. Worried more like. Eggs in baskets.

It has to be a player that is bought. Loan central capable defenders are pointless for us unless it's a top player in a topside that needs mins and has a goal to make a national side.
For a defender to properly put his body on the line he has to have the security of a contract.

Few injuries that stopped me earning and I chucked the notion of playing even a very odd 5s game for a laugh.
You can't rely on someone that has their wellbeing eating away when a vital 50/50 comes around

We did. Didn't drop ajer or the judge and jozo needed a half time sub. If it wasn't precautionary then its either a f you to the board for nor backing v Lenny or something I can't work out.
No coincidence we went 2 up top with Bayo, PP fit griff on 70% and Eddie carrying bumps. Still numerical cover.
Hamed/NBmust be close or its reckless.
You have to play your best. Sims well up there. If he is indeed out again then properly or for two weeks then all the agent fluff that has been spouted about an extension has to be binned. If the clean out op don't fix him then we have to pursue alternatives.

Gettin a bad vibe,as if somethin's amiss, Lenny is lookin like a miserable bastaart, where hiv we seen that before! 3-5-2 is the way to go but we don't have 3 fit centre backs! anyway geez a stella!

I'm a fan of Taylor and admire Jonny Hayes as a squad player who will always do a decent, if unspectacular job. Bolingoli was poor on 29 December and the fact that Neil Lennon has shown there are consequences is no bad thing. I can't see the Bauer loan option being taken up and we seem weaker at right back with both Frimpong and Elhamed out injured. James Forrest playing at wing back with Taylor on the left works well so that's the way to go - so that leaves us short at central defence especially with Jozo's knees and Bitton / Elhamed out. Bring back Benkovic today!

I've a feeling thats the deal. With Boro trying to get Gibson back now they have moved on. If Leicester sign that centre half they've been after today this one could be a go-er. Decided to work from home today and keep the ticker tape running on Sky sports
