Belgium To Call League

Belgium are about to call their 2019/20 league as it currently stands. Brugge will be champions, no relegation, cup final to take place when possible.
To be ratified at an EGM.

The template for all small countries not reliant on obscene amounts of TV income?
Someone that the SPFL can copy since they are incapable of making a decision for themselves?

I think, well hope is probably better that if the SFA were going to declare it null and void they would have done it by now. The longer it drags on and the longer the say nothing the more it looks like they’re waiting for someone to take the decision out of their hands.

Hearts told to quit the SPFL if they can't accept relegation ruling
Asked by Sky Sports earlier this month if she would consider taking legal action if Hearts are relegated, she said: “Yes, I would have to because I fundamentally disagree with it.”

However, Stewart Gilmour, the former St Mirren chairman who served on the old SPL board during his time at the Paisley club, is vehemently opposed to involving lawyers in football matters and believes the bottom-placed Premiership side must accept their fate.

“The thought of Hearts taking legal action is interesting,” he said. “This is a league that you are invited to join away at the beginning. Clubs taking legal action just shouldn’t be allowed. If you don’t want to go by the league rules or what the league decides that’s fine, go and play in another league.

“Legal action is what’s caused the problems in the disciplinary system with the compliance officer. It’s not about football any more, it’s about legalities. It was set up originally to keep legalities out of football so that football made its decisions about football and football kept the legal process out of football.

“Now everybody turns up at these things with a lawyer. It becomes a legal case. It has made a real farce of the disciplinary system. We are getting legal decisions, not football decisions.

“I was involved when the compliance officer was introduced. At the beginning it worked really well under Vincent Lunny. Vincent was exceptionally well respected by the clubs and players because he questioned officials, he questioned things that happened. They didn’t like that, but it was fair and everyone realised it was fair. It has now become farcical.

“The legalities are what has caused most of the problems. This carry on of Hearts threatening to take legal action for me is just nonsense, absolute nonsense. If you don’t want to abide by what the league decides and the league rules then go and play somewhere else, go and find another league.”

Oh Dear imagine the SPFL or Scottish football associations having carte blanche with decisions

Hearts are entitled to see fit how they deal with their scenario whether it's successful or not is the test that should be allowed. Freedom to have questions and decisions explained, not merely told to fuckoff if you do not like it.

Reading a bit more about Belgium calling league as is and it seems that UEFA have indicated, but not definitively said, that a null and void league will mean no entry into next season’s European competitions. So finish the campaign or call as is seem to be the 2 available options.

I love your optimism Lennono. But it still requires even a minuscule brain cell to copy something. As they are all brain dead at the SFA / SPFL this will not happen.
......................

I don’t think the SFA/SPFL are so much brain dead.....I would suggest it’s more that they are devoid of scruples and integrity.....as is the way of those of a Masonic persuasion

......................

A typical blazer mentality......it goes something like this...

We make the rules and change them when we see fit and you just have to lump it.....there will be no scrutiny allowed of anything we do or say.....FTP.....WATP.....GSTQ.....No Surrender

Feckin scum.....boak!!!

Club Brugge are set to be crowned Belgian champions after the Jupiler Pro League's board of directors recommended the season should be ended early because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The recommendation, made on Thursday, now just needs to be endorsed at a general assembly meeting on April 15, a process which is understood to be a formality.

Club Brugge were 15 points clear with one game remaining of the Belgian regular season, after which the top six teams would have competed in a play-off competition to determine who was crowned champion.
