Roy Keane.

I know you made that claim before Deadner, and judging by how under prepared we were in so many games would make you think that there was something in it alright.
Would have thought that today's manager really needs to be an ever present out on the training pitch to be able to access players properly to make the big decisions needed or otherwise they are only really figureheads for matches and media duties

Domestic yes
Europe probably No

We already had a guy at the helm who took no shite, but he never got the other aspects right in other areas, would Keane offer and bring a tactical knowledge or would getting Keane entice Damien Duff for that side, if so aye all day long. Also think huns would fear Roy Keane and Keane would handle the nonesense no sweat, he has put a lot of them in thier boxes for years.
I didnt think there was much in this one until I heard that Keane has allegedly said he is interested. Same as you I thought would this mean Duff back as no2 ? Keane has been out of the hot seat for a long time 10 years or so but hes meant to be quite close to DD and his refusal to congratulate slippy and sevco on telly ( golden bit of telly that 😂) makes me think this might have more weight behind it than I first thought. Keane is a Celtic man , so was Rodgers , if he takes it then hes got his eyes on a return to the game at the top same as Rodgers, Celtic the perfect place to prove yourself . He wont be everyone's cup of tea and not my preferred choice either. Cant Take away from him the success hes had as a player and no2 working with MON , won the double with us as well, but I do think that he will need a Damien Duff type personality to help him in a sort of reverse Eire set up to him and MON, Hard man , nice man type of thing. He is a marquee name even if hs yet to deliver as a no1 , slippy took 3years to win anything but I dont think it would be as long for that partnership to work under a DOF. Only thing is his temperament, basically getting another Lennon type mentality and the SMSM will be loving the thought. Whoever gets the joab will be at an instant disadvantage with such a huge overhaul required. It would be a gamble to appoint him but he is a winner and doesn't suffer fools , anyone who wants out will be out quickly. Not my favourite but it might just work though he would imo and like you said need someone like Duff to delegate between him and the players. Paddy Power has Keane at 11/2 HH

It's so frustrating being a Celtic supporter just now, we are being kept in the dark no one at Celtic is telling us anything, every manager who is out of work or gets sacked is linked with the Celtic manager's job how many people is that who has been installed as the new bookies' favourite I've lost count must be double figures. Season ticket renewal time will soon be upon us and the silence from Celtic park is deafening, either they're planing a masterstroke or they're relying on the loyalty of the Celtic support to buy tickets no matter what and if that's the case then we're just commodities to them with no say to what goes on at OUR club

This has always been the way at Celtic though. Who wouldve guessed that Rodgers be unveiled or wed be paying £9 million for a player? It is frustrating totally agree butvi also think it's the only way to get things done, it's not the club that are throwing the rumours about. HH

No from me unfortunately. I like the guy as a pundit but thats it. He was a flop as a player for us.

I keep reading on here that everyone knows we need to change and that we need a different approach from top to bottom but then I read so many people saying they would take Keane 🤔

The question is what does he offer different from lennon? Will he be tactically astute? Will he be flexible with formations? Will he provide a radical overhaul of the training and structure within the club? Will he give youth a chance? Can he develop players and progress them to be adaptable to the sgite in Scotland and then play well in Europe? Is he a motivator?

For me personally the answer is no to most of these other than the motivation, he hasn't shown anything previously as a manager that would make me think otherwise or even as O'Neills assistant.

We are stagnating as a club from top to bottom and the only way out of that is to change our outlook to that of a 'big club' we keep hearing we are a massive club etc.. but show me a big club that doesn't have a coaching team specifically specialising in the different departments of the pitch or for example.

The reason big Jock is our greatest manager was because he could think outside the box and was years ahead of his time in regards to the way football should be played and the tactical side of the game hence how we competed so well on the continent, show me any other manager other than O'Neill whose team have done this? Also O'Neills team couldn't buy a win away from home so we have moved on in that sense just our home form is patchier these days.

The issue is not who takes over as manager its the level of support and back up that will be provided. The one thing we know about Roy Keane is that he will take no nonsense from anyone.
There will be no room for slackers or interference where he's concerned. Reminds me a bit of Big Jock and Big Billy and who wouldn't like to see either of them walk back in the door. HH

The terrifying thing about this is that it's entirely possible! Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we end up with Keane as manager and Harkin as Director of Football.

Never mind that Keane's managerial history is abysmal and Harkin's Director of Football qualifications are non-existent I have a feeling that Dermot Desmond will push his myopic 'Irish dream team' fantasy through regardless of what Celtic F.C. actually needs right now.

The longer this saga goes on with the names of Keane and Harkin being mentioned again and again I'm now at the stage where I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst! :(

Strachan's Celtic were more successful than MONs as it was champions league latter stages he took us to imo HH

Sorry,It’s a no from me. Good player but not what we need as a Manager

There surely is a place for Keane at the club though I'd have thought? The fact hes put his name forward means hes interested but I'd also be wary of his appointment as boss. DOF perhaps? Coaching definately.
