Rodgers comments about possibly not finding our form all season

We all know we have lost our attacking speed of movement and finishing ability. Rodgers mentioned this and stated we may not return to that this whole season. He cited, correctly, the loss of three class players who all played a part in this.

If anybody thought we as a squad could afford to lose Paddy, Moussa and Armstrong and not suffer as a consequence, then I pity the fools.

We have done what Celtic have always done in my lifetime supporting our team. When we are in a position of strength we shite it. We blink and it usually costs us dearly. It happened once again, on the back of an historic double treble we stalled. We missed out on a true Celt like McGinn, over less of a fee we spent on Kouassi. For me that was unforgivable on Lawells part.

We embarked upon the road to a £60m CL payday by not bringing in defenders dugs in the street knew we needed. Result? Three defensive balls ups sealed our fate. Again, for me, unforgivable negligence on Lawell's part.

We are now we’re we are. My view is we need to ensure we keep ahead until January and hopefully Lawell will deliver the quality we need to push on for 8 in a row. If we don’t change our set up, Morgan and Arzani and even Malumbu, then we will stagnate. Without real competition players get comfortable and I think Forrest, McGreggor and Rogic need a rocket up their arses to focus the mind to up their performances.

Leigh needs to realise that shouting he is the No 1 needs to be backed up with goals every game. He has been off it too.

We showed Sevco we are still top dog. But we should have horsed them. We didn’t and that worried me. They were outplayed by Villa but managed a draw and could have won it. They could do the same to us if we fail to put chances away.

The shambles that was our transfer window cannot he repeated in January. On current form we have no chance of getting out of our EL group. To be embarking on that campaign weaker than last year, is totally incompetent on the boards part.

I read on abither site that Rogers, Lawell and Desmond met in Dublin during the international break to discuss what went wrong in the transfer window. Trying all of it as a starter for 10 would be my baseline.

It was negligence. I hope when they had a wee huddle at the end of it, they agreed to have a go. To fight. We have money, spending it on quality players enables us to earn more money. Then they can be sold on for profit.

I think introducing Morgan and the other lads can give us a lift. If we get that then we could qualify and be stronger after the break to set us up for the CL qualifying stages. If we don’t then heads on the board will need to roll.

Hopefully lessons, expensive lessons, have been learned.

Let’s hope today at Killie we step up to how we can play. We can’t afford to lose any more points. It was interesting to see St Mirren getting humped by Hamilton yesterday. Showing clearly how utter pish that performance of ours was.

We need to step up and we need that to start today.

Totally agree with everything in your post. My biggest fears are we drop to much points up until January and lose in the cup killing off our treble treble dream and making 8IAR a struggle.....or....on the other hand we start today playing beautiful attacking football and that will give Lawell an excuse not to spend in January to strengthen for next season champs league qualifiers.

Lawell is lucky still to be in a job. He cost us £60m list out on McGinn for buttons who will move on and make Villa millions. He needs to either get his finger out or, himself. There can be no repeat. Doing nothing puts another £60m at risk next year and could derail our 10iar. He has already put a spike in that wheel, he cannot be allowed to do it again through his fear of spending money on quality. Rogers will walk if he doesn’t. Out of the two, I know who I would want to hit the exit. And his name isn’t Rogers.

I can't see the same scenario panning out in January. I'm positive Brendan will get the backing he needs and deserves. However I think we missed the boat in the summer window, that was the time to strengthen in my opinion, when first choice targets, well within our budget were allowed to sign elsewhere. That for me, and the public fallout as a result is the main reason we have stuttered and failed to find consistency. We have a good enough squad as it is to canter the league but they and their manager have been unsettled in the summer. Let down by the board and Peter Lawwell in particular. We need the Gaffer and players to find consistency and a way to goal, and we need the Sharp Suited Man to deliver big time in January.
I believe more than hope both those things will happen.

Why give Lawwell the blame.
Do we not have a manager and a squad that should comfortably beat Kilmarnock and frankly anyone in the league. Is it Lawwell that oversees the ball being continuously rotated across the back 4?
Is it Lawwell who has the wingers continually cutting back inside?
C' mon we need some of our so called special people, manager and players to deliver.

We need quality players. That’s Lawell’s job. That filters down to reduced options and that is what we see. That means when players are off form we don’t have better to bring in. That’s the story as we witnessed. It’s about the options to change it. Lawell doing fuck all created the perfect storm of no choices you really want to change it. Lawell, Lawell, Lawell.

Rodgers sounded utterly deflated and it must be impacting players . but The blame lies in both places
Eg Jesus wept can’t defend a simple corner!
The ONLY good news is it’s September
Must stay more of less in touch at the top and win league cup and not be embarrassed in Europe and then win new year game
Anything else is messing and around mid table .given enormous advantages over everyone else and Rodgers will go and someone will be brought in to win the league
Lawell IMO should go as well right now for having tens upon tens of millions in the bank and allowing this situation to develop
Criminal!

So we spend £9m on our record transfer in, we take £20m in on our biggest transfer out, we get a £13m player on loan, we give 3 of our top players extended contracts, we bring through one of our own, we spend £50m a year on salaries, and we can't beat Kilmarnock. Give me a break!!

aye well we started eday on eh road backwards ! every word u said was spot on , but eday we were rank sidesway fitba backwards fitba naw good enuff ! theres trouble somwer ini background

9 wins in our last 19 league games in mid table form at best weev been shocking for a long time it’s only coming to fruit now because how bad a start wee have made which is our worst since the 70’s

Being the glass half empty Bhoy that people say I am, I have to say I am extremely worried now. The most worrying thing for me is the air of acceptance among the players but you can maybe understand it when the manager comes out with statements like that. I can't claim to know what happens in the dressing room or at Lennoxtown but something isn't right. I pray to God I'm wrong but I fear for the LC quarter final, never mind 8 or 10 in a row. Shocking how bad we are.

Sorry but I am afraid there will be no treble this year, in fact I think we will win only one trophy and at this point I don't know which one it will be. Playing as we are I can't see it being the league and to be honest I couldn't care which cup it is. Very disappointed so far this season and Brendon seems reluctant to change formation as it means leaving out some senior players or some of his transfer targets who don't look comfortable in a green and white jersey. Bring on an attacking Rb and put the two young tricky wingers on in there natural positions and let them go at the opposing teams,at least we might look as if we are interested. If there is something going on in the dressing room as rumours say then get it sorted even if it means leaving out or moving on the instigators, the fans will back the club as long as they are above board with the fans.
I hope I am way off the mark here but get it sorted Celtic. HH.

This is Rogers greatest test. He has to put the transfer inaction out of his mind and focus on getting what is still the best squad in the league winning well again.

This is where class rises to the challenge. The ball is literally in your court Brendan.

needs to pick his best 11 everyweek and stop all the changes wee need a settled team with no hendry sinclair or lustig wee need to be quicker in our play and more adventurous when attacking we are so predictable its unreal

I know the pitch was bad but so were Celtic we appear to have lost our mo,, jo yes we have lost 3. Good players but we had players on the pitch capable of beating Killie too many players not getting involved yes moveing about at the back looks good but over the top at times, sorry very disappointed

We look lost when we get into the final third. Nobody can beat a man, the final baw is shit, we break that slowly I could get back dragging a washing machine. When we do create a chance we miss it.

I think I will go and write sad songs.

To the tune of My old mans a dustman.

Oh I support the Celtic
We always win some cups
But when we are ahead most times
We go and fuck it up

We never buy the players
To take us up a gear
We claim we have no money
And it leave’s us all in tears

The board are bloody useless
Just hope we always win
But when we need new players
The fuckers hide the tin

Oh I support the Celtic
We always win some cups
But when we are ahead most times
We go and fuck it up
We go and fuck it up
