If you go on utube and watch matches involving Danny you will notice not a lot of players tryed to tackle him???infact quite a few shat their pants at the sight of him running at them

I love Danny McGrain
As Jam mentioned previously, a truly world-class player who was the original blueprint for these wing-back types nowadays. The only difference being is that Danny could actually defend properly as well.
The real shame is, is that he might have been even better had he not had to deal with fractured skulls and diabetes when medical treatment wasn't quite as advanced.
Also involved in what would have been one of the top 3 goals in Celtic history had it not been the wee rat bastart that finished it off!

Happy birthday Danny. He really was world class and could have played in any era. he was good enough for the Lions and he would be worth an absolute fortune in the modern era as his style of play is perfect for nowadays. I rank him alongside Kenny Dalglish and Henrik as the best players I've seen play for Celtic (Jinky was past his best and Bobby Murdoch was gone). A lovely, funny, self-effacing humble man who happened to be one of Scotland's greatest ever players.
