So the old laptop I borrowed from my work before I retired a good few years ago has sadly passed away and my son's have given me a nice shiney tablet thingy that keeps changing everything I type and having fingers like sausages I keep pressing the wrong button 😡😡.
The old laptop will be lying in state until Wednesday when it will be interned into the bin ,a 100 page pull out will be available everyday in the daily record from Monday for a week , the route the bin lorry takes will be posted later so that anyone who wants can line the route.😂😂

Get yourself a wireless keyboard and mouse combo or even just a wired keyboard if the tablet has a standard USB port. Will make typing a lot easier.

I remember back in the late 90's, a friend got me a 'deal' on a Mac Laptop,,, they were the newest and biggest thing, and I believe it 'fell aff the back o' a lorry'
I was new to the computer stuff, and was well chuffed to have one at the time
The following morning, I open it up and turn it on
The screensaver came up, and in big letters...
THIS LAPTOP HAS BEEN REPORTED STOLEN :oops:
I nearly shat myself
He had set up that message on the screensaver (I hadn't a clue what a screensaver was in those days)
I phone him up, in a wee bit of a panic, and he's laughing his balls off...

BASTARD !!!
😆😆😆😆😆

That reminds of when I was in oz in the late nineties. You had to book an hour in the local library to use the Internet to check the news from home. My friend who was in Ireland at the time sent me an email which read wait till you see this. Of course I couldn't "wait" to see it and opened the fuckin thing.
A big sign flashed on the screen PORN with a loud siren going off. It wouldn't allow me to switch it off. Eventually it went off itself and me sitting there with a head on me like a brake light and the whole library lookin at me in disgust.
Needless to say it was about two months before I went back near the place.

When my dad passed away one of his favourite songs was the Whiffingpoof song and wanted it played at his funeral ,I typed that into my computer at my work F**K you should have seen the results I got 😂😂😂😂

My 75 year life in the tech world, before I joined up worked for a company called LEP transport one of thier contracts was to deliver then computers to companys in the early sixties the parts were delivered in what can only describe as a extra long removal wagon they would on take up the full floor some times two they had so many bits that had to be connectEd tape machines punch machines you could have filled a fair size warehouse with it all now it’s a laptop from there I joined up a long wheeled land rover was the radio truck full of battery’s today it’s a mobile phone, injured out worked in a few factory’s where everything was controlled by computer which went wrong more often than not now all the information is on a mobile phone with the cry it will be on the internet?being into photography my family bought me the all dancing camera that could be fitted to a I Pad so they could be printed,so my darkroom went one less place to hide but it turned out I didn’t need an iPad or a camera you could do the same on your mobile phone you did not even be at home to print them you could send them by Wi-Fi on my mobile phone is it progress or just a mobile phone my life with tech folks or my mobile camera printer Wi-Fi and anything else you can think of you know that rectangle that controls our life’s I progress indeed
