I did a wee google there and was surprised to discover that, also in 2012, they merged with a consortium including The Carlyle Group (armaments, debt acquisition, John Major and GW Bush believed to be prominent) and the Edmond de Rothschild Group. If that doesn't get your tinfoil tingling I don't know what will.
