I was reading an article about anti government protests by Iranians. Essentially for the last few months all domestic football games have been played behind closed doors to stop the fans protesting. If fans protest outside the ground then the tv mutes the audio so they cannot be heard.
The players all refuse to celebrate when they score and usually do something to show support for those who suffer from the government's antiquated authority, so the tv shows closeups of the team that have just conceded the goal instead.
As the games against Eng-ger-lund or the USA will be broadcast live around the world, this may well be an excellent opportunity for some Iranian fans to launch a high profile protest that will receive worldwide attention. Maybe something to be aware of if something happens before or during the game.
