New report by Liverpool Uni . lecturer , Keiran Maguire has analysed all the recent accounts of British football clubs . In Scotland , Celtic have borrowed £10 million , Sevco have borrowed £22 million , more than the combined debts of all other clubs .
Mind you , King has a long way to go to measure up to Man U. with debts of £496 million - but then they can service their debt- can Sevco ?

That's the thing debt is only a problem if you can't pay it. Like you or I having a mortgage or finance on a car. It's debt but as long as we keep up the monthly payments its manageable.
But running up 40 million in losses since their inception and constantly seeking more loans is totally unsustainable.

They keep finding muppets to loan them money for toilet paper, sorry ... "shares". The real world has gotta catch up sooner or later, it's gotta be Close.

As I'm understand things Financial Fair Play was brought in to ensure clubs under the umbrella of UEFA lived within their means. By this clubs cannot simply be bankrolled by rich benefactors.

They have to generate their own income through gate receipts, legitimate sponsorships, merchandising, sale of players, prize money, etc

What we have at the Huns is they are being heavily bankrolled by affluent benefactors to keep the lights on so to speak. No benefactors at Ibrox as things stand would equate to insolvency because they simply could not pay their way.

So adopting the Huns business model Manchester City or anyone else should be allowed for their rich sheikh or whoever else to bankroll them to whatever amount they please.

Now we all know that is not allowed as UEFA Financial Fair Play Rules forbids this sort of thing. In fact that is what FFP regulations were brought in to stop. That's why it was called....Financial Fair Play....Right?

So....with all this in mind why are Rangers IL being allowed to operate outside FFP requirements?

The simple answer is obviously no one is effectively scrutinising what is going on at Ibrox and holding them accountable to FFP requirements.

Once again they are being allowed to flaunt the rules everyone else has to live by. It's rancid.....indeed, only in Scotland.

Agree, Man City being pulled why is a provincial club only suported by a small demographic support get away with it.
As said, you have written down points that the English media would love to dig into.

They might be able to borrow money, but it's the borrowed time that they want to be worrying about!

If the usual suspects are happy to dip into their own personal wealth, then they're in for a shiter when the Close Brothers and other high interest lenders come to repossess the midden and turn it into condos.

Milton Freeman wrote the book on "Disaster Economics". He might as well have wrote it about the recent history of the huns!
