Rock legend Eddie Van Halen has died

Eddie Van Halen, the guitarist, songwriter and co-founder of the band Van Halen, died of cancer Tuesday morning, according to his son. He was 65. Fans and friends are sharing their memories and celebrating his legacy.

I've seen them a few times, but not really a fan. The thing about Eddie Van Halen -- other than being an outstanding guitarist, of course -- is that he always looked happy playing the guitar on stage while the rest of the band went through it's usual lunacy.

The term legend is widely used , but Eddie totally changed guitar playing styles in the 80’s 1st person to do right hand and left hand tapping, influenced a generation of guitar players, the Hendrix or Clapton of his time, will be sorely missed ,

RIP Eddie a great technical guitar player but not to my taste. Certainly no Gary Moore or Ritchie Blackmore.

He loved his job, he also couldn't read music and learnt classical piano as lad by ear. He was a natural.
