The Deadly Duo.

Think you may have to many players out of position there Imatim
...........................

Only Soro is being asked to play a different game I reckon.....he plays there to add bite to the midfield and to block off any runs from Tavpen.....McGregor would excel playing further forward imo and would link up well with Eddy and Griff.....Ajer would give us pace going forward and height which we will need.....and all the rest are familiar with this set up.....I just feel we need to tactically make the Huns worry about us and I reckon this line up would do that.....and I believe the shape and bite is there that we will need.....I also think that Lenny will choose an entirely different team and set up.....whereby I think we need to change things tactically and that’s how I would do it.....it’s all about opinions right enough ☘️☘️☘️

Think this is all the huns have and the bench is not strong as in players not playing regular.

Jack and Arfield are doubtful so maybe snuff out the midfield and their long diaganol ball from Goldson, Have to go same as them and use our pace.

Agreed boab, this sitting back against them has been our downfall against them in the last couple of encounters.
If we play higher up the field, should nullify there full back's getting to far forward and able to dominate us.
Calmac and Christie pace would trouble them with pace to get beyond them, plus they have great energy to close them down.
Let them go long and I believe our defence will be able to win them duels and not allowing them to many options to get forward.
The centre midfield will allow us with the extra numbers to dominate the play.
I wouldn't be to surprised to see them sit back and try and play us on the count attack and set plays with a pen always in the offering

I dont think we sat back against them, I think we abandoned midfield, actual midfield, leaving huge gap between our defence and forward line, forcing long ball hopes, which is a recurring theme all season.

long balls aren't that accurate and their better equipped high ball winners usually won ball and our forward line didn't track back effectively creating a long ball loop in their favour.

they dominate centre of park and lennon gives it for long ball hopeful counter threat which is easy to defend if you have no high ball winners in your forward line, coupled with piss poor supply from flanks we create nothing to very little.

only times this season we have created lot of chances is when midfield stay in centre of park until ball infront of them then close out their half with press into channels creating options.

But our best suppliers also seem prone to extreme greed rather than best pass option if available.

bought extra forwards and none are high ball specialists, yet we high ball to Taylor and frimpong multiple times each game, and both of them struggle to control high balls or deliver dangerous crosses with regularity.

Poor team selection for his choice of shape and set up

In a different system with our fb/wb would be very strong players if we had a plan that they could execute.

But he still hoping they somehow become good at receiving high balls then delivering accurate crosses to feet is just poor tactics imo

we dont sit back

we abandon midfield have too many players too far from defence and no defensive tracking at times which creates zip and allows opps lots of chances they didn't really have to earn

and repeat boys absolutely breathtakingly fantastic, best ive ever seen

Physicality will be crucial. This will be a real old style match. No room for shirkers or only the half committed. They will kick us up and down the park from the first moment under the guise of a typical committed old firm battle. They know the media love it, so excuses covered. Madden will adopt the same approach. They have everything to gain with less to lose in adopting this approach. Keeping Kent quiet, no silly free kicks within Tavenier's range and defending set pieces are crucial.
But let's get the job done against Dundee Utd first.
