Don't buy into that GS unfortunately as its a false economy within football still imo.
Still the CL is run as a playground for the super rich clubs and they are hardly to impressed with it at present, hence all the talk about the European super league remains.
As a competition it still remains a nonsense when so many teams have won it and yet couldn't win there own domestic league still.
The figures are hugely inflated still with the knock on effect to the smaller clubs can bring about having to pay over the top wages and transfer fees, just cause the club has a CL tag to there name, yet for the handful of clubs they still remain there for making up the numbers and coming 3rd in a group is the best achievement they can hope for, and such was the case in our experience as such to date, yet the extra revenue was hardly invested well.
Much prefer the current state of affairs where we are building a team worthy of challenging the elite of Europe again than being a team of cannon fodder for the elite.
So how much extra is generated with only 3 home games in the CL compared to the 7 home games at least generated in European competition this season?
Have no idea myself, but a better reflection upon how much extra can be generated is a more realistic figure than the 40M been plucked from the sky imo.
