Never born in the wrong era to be a TIM. i wished i could have got to see McGrory, McGrory probably wished he got to see Kelly from 1888, the grass is the same on our side of the fence.Looked it up there Boab 126000 at that game madness!A wis born in the wrong era!Much better in the colour

My earliest memory of a Celtic game was at Hampden - Scottish Cup semi against St Mirren in the late 50's , went with my dad . We lost ! Thankfully just a hazy memory . ( the game , not my dad !)

Like you, fergus, I was going to Paradise when I was only a wee thing and used to dread walking away up the London Rd. I enjoyed watching from my dad's shoulders or perched on a rail but always had to get a piggy-back home.I honestly cannot remember my first celtic game .my earliest memories were of waiting outside the pub with some crisps and then my da lifting me over the turnstile to get into the then rangers end of Celtic park .my da and all my uncles used to stand beside the pylon were the floodlights went through the roof of the stand .
I always remember he used to say to my ma ,Mary there's no point taking him ,he just sits digging for worms .(the old stand set up with dirt and wood .
I have been blessed to be on god's earth during some of the biggest achievements of the team I love 1964 and counting
not bad for a worm picker
As a wee boy born and raised in Parkhead my pals and I would trot up to the game , get a' lift over' and spend the first half behind whatever goal Celtic were attacking , then at halftime wander round to the other goal to watch the rest of the game .
I couldn't tell you much about the early matches I attended as I was there mostly for mercenary reasons -At full-time we would collect as many bottles as we could - there was a deposit on bottles ( 3 pence in old money ) - and cash them in .
Gingie boattles, Fergus. Gless cheques we called them as well. Used to spend hours rounding them up for sweetie money.
