How our Scottish contingent drove Celtic on to victory against Motherwell

Excellent as usual Niall. I have a couple of points - I agree that Taylor seems to be becoming the next whipping boy for some fans. There always seems to be the need to have at least one person in the team that gets it in the neck from the fans (Forrest is usually a target too).

I'm not saying it is entirely unwarranted as I agree that he is frustrating with his final ball or his bad habit of turning back instead of charging forward. But I'm not sure how the lack of trust from the support is supposed to help a young player trying to step up to playing at a higher level in every single game. Bear in mind he was probably brought in with the intention of being the understudy to our new glamorous signing at left back, where he could settle in and evolve his style of play.

Hopefully he is working on these aspects in training because they don't come naturally to him as I think he is a more defensive player rather than the wingback that we are playing him. I still would like to see an experienced replacement for Boli for this position, but hope that Taylor gets a chance to improve his game without too much unfair moaning - this will be hard as we are all fairly highly strung this season!

The second point is the photo of Turnbull & Frimpong in training. It seems that every single photo that contains Frimpong, the players round about him are smiling or laughing. He just seems to be a positive bubbly character that boosts morale of everyone around which is a very important attribute to have (a bit like kelly is on here) - especially in this season when all the team will be under constant pressure and scrutiny.

Like you and Kelly said BB it's the frustration at that final ball/decision that is holding him back. He has however improved markedly since last season and when Moi is up for it (becoming an issue his consisitency out wide) there even looks a real partnership developing. That stuff can take time and if he applies himself in training like he does on match day he'll get there I'd hope. Looks like when we play wing backs there may be room for Forrest on one side and Frimpong on the other and Elhamed dropping into a back 3. Not sure how I feel about Forrest as a left wing back but he playes his best football out there on Sunday. He'll certainly have the experience to help Taylor through his whipping boy status (I believe he's deleted his twitter acct) mind you, you can take your pick for whipping boys at the moment. Everyone has a favourite, me included :)

Anybody else think Taylor struggles for consistency during games? I see spells in which we looks like he could be a good player for us, then he goes back to looking like your average SPL fullback. If he could find a way to keep potential he shows at times throughout the entirety of the game, then I'm all for keeping him at LB, at least until someone better comes along.

He keeps plugging away but you see indecision creeping in as the games goes on ,last year he couldn't go past a man this year he'smore confident but his final ball is more hurried than place , same as his overlaps ,make the run but he hasn't thought out ,,,what next

Suppose he's a work in progress and there is a good player there, behind closed door games will help him as no fans to get on his back to dent his confidence

Taylor still looks like he is a Kilmarnock player overawed playing in the Celtic team - and playing mostly on actual real grass doesn't help -lol !

He CAN be good at getting crosses over ( Hamilton game this season ) but I think he is left unsupported at times . He is NOT great at getting past defenders ( yet ) and so when he gets the ball out wide he needs someone overlapping to help him out until such time as he is a settled Celtic player . In recent games he has been left isolated on the wing with no one offering a pass option .
( Putting the ball across goal when we have no PROPER CF is a lottery ! )

Jury still out on whether he CAN be a first pick !

"He certainly didn’t look like he was working his ticket on Sunday instead in that second half performance he looked like he was a player fighting for his teammates."

Christie was awesome in the 2nd half. In fact, there was one point where he was fouled by two hammerthrowers -- no call, of course -- but he came up with the ball and passed it to Ajer, who passed to Ajeti, who scored.

Best play of the game.

Good spot Larry and good to see you are safe and with us Buddie.

A glimpse of Christie returning to the form of 2019. I hope so. Glad you are back home Larry. Stay safe buddy.

Lot of pressure on the Bhoy
It's a big step up from Kilmarnock to Celtic, as expected
I think he'll come good, just needs some more experienced players around him, to help him with his confidence
Too bad they let Jonny Hayes go as he'd be a great mentor, for the wee man

My view on Taylor. Is he capable of magic?
For me he isn't. He has to have players drilled to overlap. Any pro should be able to hit a quick straight pass. He needs help.
He can defend but we won't get both from him. Anyone expecting that will always be disappointed.
Could he play as a lcb? The way KT has at times away from us?
Probably too much for him. Inch shorter and not as athletic.
So back to square one...we need to buy if we want boxes ticked or change our play

Don't think Elyounoussi helps him out much.
