"Sir"

Take it you wouldn't bow to him Lubos if you ever had the misfortune of bumping into him
Sounds like it would be a Glasgow kiss type bow.

The thing... sorry, one of the things that grinds my gears about Sir Prick is that he waffles on about how he is in the sport for the love of driving while he holds out for an extra £10M from Mercedes for driving a car that Stevie Wonder could drive to victory (though that doesn't make Bottas sound very good!)

To me he is just a non-entity in a sport I couldn't give a monkeys about, being rewarded by a corrupt and useless government using an outdated "waste of taxpayers money" honours system on behalf of a dottery old bag who headsup a medieval royalty which pisses our cash away on the super-rich only because of whose fanny they slopped out of! I repeat - meh!

You know what I hate about knighthoods and the whole honours system......it exists!

Servile cap doffing simpletons idiotically creaming their union jack y-fronts at the prospect of being gifted a lump of metal and a meaningless lofty title by a government of toff gangsters and the scrounging elitist head of a reviled and long dead empire!

They can ram their 'knighthoods and honours' up their fucking hoops!
Jeso Shadow fur a minute there a thoat Hoopy wiz gettin it Fi the Royals a Prince Andrew Pizza nite oot or Hoopys Favourite BBC then phew I saw the s and it was Hoops but sadly the Image huz stuck

HH 😂

I wonder how his BLM mates will feel about him taking this award from the system they hate. I mean, I cant imagine any of his American sports star brothers and sisters bowing their heads and taking awards from the American government. Like everything with the self important arsehole, only when it suits him....

Another one who thinks taxes are only for the working class.

Lewis Hamilton received a £3.7m VAT refund on his £16m private jet using an Isle of Man scheme, leaked documents reveal.
The four-time Formula 1 world champion apparently avoided taxes by setting up an artificial leasing business through which he “rented out” his private jet to himself.

Accountancy firm EY and Appleby allegedly helped him and others set up leasing businesses through which jets were rented, while still allowing them use of the jets for personal journeys.
There is no suggestion that Hamilton was involved in setting up the business to reduce the amount of tax he had to pay and legitimate tax avoidance schemes are not illegal.

When you see "there is no suggestion" on a report about a sportsperson, you just know there is plenty of suggestion and, at least, circumstantial evidence about them such as Mo Farah, Alberto Salazar, Bradley Wiggins and more.

I don't for one minute imagine people like Hamilton, Messi, Ronaldo, etc, study tax laws to find these loopholes. They pay highly qualified accountants to advise them. The problem is the system and governments who allow these loopholes to continue, even when it becomes apparent that it is being taken advantafe of - often because their super-rich, tax avoiding donors benefit most from them. If everyone paid their fair share then the vast majority of us would pay less. Although what they are doing is not illegal IMO it is immoral, not that I think any of them will lose a wink of sleep caring what people like me think of them.
