Sevco covid breach

478 billion barrels of crude have been taken since it was discovered but folk still believe it's worthless , it's trading at $60 a barrel as of today after a negative dip a few years ago ,,,,,,because opec doubled production in 2014 it was trading at $114 a barrel the forcasts were looking at billions more barrels waiting to get pumped untill the forcasters got the promise of frackin licences which the got the morning after the referendum , new oil fields found in the firth of fourth and off shetland ,,,,what a burden ,,,,the futures markets are rampant in crude oil futures even more so now with Brexit ,,,,,,,,but it's a burden

if a country was given a head start of oil fields and huge fisheries sector throw in whiskey and food exports as a starter and couldn't stand alone then there aswell giving up
And this idea the oil industry is fucked is a myth
It’s not currently profitable due to barrel price but as soon as it’s back up it’ll start up again
We’re human beings and it’s not in our nature to leave money in the ground

I read somewhere, that’s since the 2nd world war, 47 countries have gained independence from their colonial masters, NOT ONE has ever asked to be taken back, I firmly believe our wee country would make a success of it, probably after a few years finding our feet, I’ve voted SNP for the last 10-15 years, but due to the kicking wee jimmy crankie has given my club, cupled with the blind eye she throws the huns trying to win their votes (not a fecken chance), she needs to know our displeasure, I fully understand how people vote for is their own business, but I’ll not be voting for wee jimmy, they’ve been in power too long, starting to get arrogant, need taught a lesson with spell back being the opposition party......
Independence would likely be the beginning of the end for the snp.

They’re riding that wave at the moment
None of the other mainstream Scottish parties leaders are their best candidates. You only get 1 shot at being a party leader and none of the top tier want to take it just now as it’s a thankless task.

the snp are riding the independence movement now but remove that then their vote share will reduce

They must have been desperate to play Travernier he went down twice before they took him he looked in a bad way,for once a ref gave a penalty against sevco their players looked shocked that’s what happens with an honest ref 2-1 second half to com

I would like to see the figures that say we can't be successful independent nation. Who is saying that, what qualifies them to say that and most importantly who is paying them to say that?
I would also like to know how the "scots cost the UK £1000 per head" figure was arrived at and also the source.
The British are known for many things, altruism is not one of them.
If that was true we would have been given independence long ago.
So why is it that the British media went to great lengths to influence the result of the the referendum given that we are a nation of subsidie junkies? Do they like paying to keep us in £1000 a head luxury? Why if we are a burden to them?
Like I said earlier the British, especially the Tories, are not known for their altruism.

"We discovered" the oil? Not huge amounts of international funding to access it? The oil industry is gubbed. Shall we install more windmills that totally obscure our beautiful country and sell off excess power? How many tourists would love that? Shall we increase whiskey production 10 fold and sell it on if there's a big enough demand and still be cometitively priced?
NOT A SINGLE ANSWER AND PUBLICATION OF WHAT THE " ACTUAL" FIGURES ARE TO BACK UP THE " DREAM". Yes theres lots of ideas but no solid figures.
Finaly. Do you honestly think we will be given ANOTHER opportunity to even have a referendum? Pipe dreams.

How can you give 'actual' figures for an independent Scotland if it hasn't happened yet? The only thing you can do, which is what every economist does, is make informed judgements through comparisons with similar sized countries with similar sized populations with similar sized GDP's. Those similar to Scotland (even some with less GDP) do extremely well as independent countries and currently outperform Scotland even though it's part of a Union that's supposed to make us stronger.

Can you give me 'actual' figures for the UK economy 5 years from now when the impact of Brexit will start to be fully realised? Will we be better or worse off than we are now if we're still part of the UK then? People always talk about the risks of independence yet never seem to talk about the risks of staying part of the UK even though they are dangerously apparent and compounded by Brexit!

You brought up the oil thing Stevie no me, like I said Scotland doesn't have to rely on oil to be a prosperous independent country we have many other sectors that can sustain us as a country, the oil sector is just one of many but if small countries like Norway could find International funding to extract their oil why would Scotland be any different? Are we uniquely incapable of doing these things for ourselves?

As for the oil sector being 'gubbed' well I think there's plenty of economists and extremely rich oil barons that would argue otherwise, there may not be as much as there once was but there's still 100's of billions of £'s still to be made from it and that's the thing about a lessening resource like oil it gets more expensive the less of it there is.

We're already a net exporter of renewable energy and not just from the 'windmills' but also tidal energy and hydroelectric while we also have an abundance of natural gas reserves. Plus if we wanted to put up more 'windmills' then we can do it out at sea, sure the tourists wouldn't mind too much if they're oot in the distance. Massive demand worldwide for Scotch Whisky but like oil we wouldn't have to rely on an increase in production to sustain us.

I think we can stand on our own 2 feet as a country and prosper but I get that there are some who will never vote for it regardless of the circumstances while there are you and others who need more convincing and that's fair enough, all the rest of us who support it can ask is that you at least remain open to the idea and give it genuine consideration.
