Transfer Rumours

Think its a signing that we really needed Gary and hopefully fits in very nicely with us and nothing to suggest he won't be another masterstroke from Ange yet again.
Currently being using Jota and meada on the right when both players seem to preform better on the left and more effective also on the left imo.
Abada seems to have been given the role of being more effective from the subs bench when a game opens up more so in the latter stages to date.
This now potentially changes as we start to enter the 2 games a week territory where rotation should start to be impacted moreso, with cover in Forrest for any injuries or lack of form should kick in.
With a level of versatility within him hopefully allows another option in the O'Reilly role also.
Think it will be another great signing imo.

Blackpool are closing in on a deal for Celtic’s Owen Moffat, writes Scott Burns.

The English Championship side are in talks with the Hoops for what is likely to be a permanent transfer.

Blackpool boss Michael Appleton is keen to land the young winger.

The 20-year-old has come through the ranks at Celtic Park and is under contract until 2024.

He made his debut against Ross County last year but has struggled to get regular first-team football under Ange Postecoglou.

Moffat has been a regular in the Celtic B team

Got to say I'm a bit disappointed with this Gary. I've been quite impressed with this kid. Really felt he had a chance of breaking through. Good luck to the kid if he goes. Too many of our best youngsters are moving to try to further their careers.

When you consider he's only a couple of months younger than Abada I'd say his chances at Celtic are non existent. Youth set up at Celtic not fit for purpose, too few even get a chance let alone make a significant contribution. Haven't see the B team this season but from what I saw last season only Lawal and Vata have a chance of making it to the first team. Lots of (small) neat and tidy players but not obviously good enough for the first team.
Hopefully the new B team set up that Ange has put in place may start to produce players in the coming years, but it will take time.

Fair points as always Garry. I think the boy is probably doin' the right thing for his career. And yes, I also agree that quite a number of our kids seem to lack the physical stature the modern game places so much stock on. As the late great Tam Burns once said: give me a choice between a good wee guy and a good big guy ? Big bloke wins every time !

Great wee player, but as you say Frank, he has to do what is best for him
As much as we'd like the youngsters to make the big team, many will likely realise that opportunities are few and far between
Best of luck to the wee man no matter where he goes
Once a Bhoy, always a Bhoy

Sick of keep saying it dill, there remains no vision within Scottish football still and an even worse development path without any certainty in place whatsoever.
Currently there is an 8 home grown rule in place for european competition, how is that pipeline going to be fulfilled in future years with things as they currently stand within Scotland.?
Lowland league without any certainty in place at present, very little chance if any of running a 2nd team in the lower leagues of Scottish football still, and somehow we are still expected to fill the gap between lowland league and SPFL and CL football?????
Not a huge problem at present as such, but we are still a club where better wages can be earned elsewhere still.
Players such as Taylor, Ralston, turnbull and Welsh etc etc could well start becoming more to the attention of the bigger boys in money term's, then where are we going to be left as a club.?
Already we are left wide open and the likes of Doak now Moffat going already as better development opportunities within there careers lay elsewhere still.
So let's leave the current situation undressed still and potentially having to enter squads with less than 20 players in future, just cause we can't fill our quota of home grown players, now that stands to become a huge embarrassing situation arising within Scottish football at present imo.
