Live on TNT Sports 1 from 7:45pm

Toughest of games to be looking for a win against a top quality team.
Stranger things have happened of course on the 7th November in the past with two famous wins on that very date against Barca and Lazio.....could it happen again ?

Maybees naw but we can dream...and the stars would need to align big style.

Hart
Johnston CCV Scales Taylor
ORiley Calmac Turnbull
Maeda Kyogo Palma

Subs : Bain Raldo Phillips Bernardo Holm Iwata Forrest Oh Yang

Hopefully we're not watching from behind the couch and give it our best shot.

Lets hope after the final whistle blows we're talking about the game we just watched.(1-1 for me)
Not the Ref, not VAR, not the crowd, but somehow, I doubt it.

A very tough away match against one of Europe's top sides who will do ANYTHING to gain an advantage over their opponents. They know more about the dark arts than Voldemort.

I would be shocked if we don't receive at least 1 red card thanks to play acting and pressurising the ref
The frustrating thing for me is that they don't need to do this as they are excellent footballers.

No point in saying the side I'd select as it is a 3-5-2 with Iwata holding and Taylor recreating his inverted FB role in midfield to offer more protection to our defence. But Brendan likes to go toe-to-toe with his opponents so won't deviate from his starting 4-3-3.

I would be delighted to get any points over there, although it would be unlikely. So I'm predicting a 2-2 draw.

Mon the Hoops.

Think the experience of the last couple of games will stand Celtic in good stead tonight thier fitness and teamwork will I think benefit thier preparation for tonight at least hope so, it will be tough but Celtic are capable of at least a draw if not a win looking forward to the game and know that Celtic will give thier all and good luck to them

Honestly can't see us getting anything from tonight's game. Hope I'm wrong but this is the toughest game of the six. The fact we gave them a fright at CP a couple of weeks ago will mean that Simeone won't underestimate us and send out their strongest team to try to overrun us as early as possible. Get to half time level we may have a chance. I'm afraid I don't trust Hart in goals at this level anymore and they will target Taylor, especially after his first leg performance, as the weakest link and attack us down our left/their right.
I think we all know what the starting 11 will be but would like to see BR throw in a curve ball and play the 532 formation he played for the last 30 mins at CP when we managed to thwart their early dominance of the half.

For this game, I'd prefer to play it tighter too. We concede far too many goals away from home in Europe and so have yo be less gung-ho. I don't mean play turgid anti-football as we don't have the players capable of that style, but sensible use of the players we have available.

I would start tonight with:

Hart
Phillips...Carter-Vickers...Scales
AJ..............Iwata............Taylor
O'Riley.........CalMac
Kyogo.......Maeda

There is still plenty of skill on the pitch and AJ & Taylor can bomb forward to provide width (without over-exposing our backline).

Kyogo & Maeda have incredible pace to hit them on the break. Plus they work hard chasing defenders down so act as our first line of defence.

We can then bring on Palma, Yang & Oh after about an hour as needed. Plus we must use all 5 subs this week, so Holm & Bernardo may get used too (it is a shame Hatate & Abada are missing).

Nawrocki or Lagerbielke would be in instead of on-loan Phillips if they were match fit.

You’re definitely a 433formist um unmasking yi. 😷
Although we need a 173 with four defenders and 3 midfielders and 3 attackers
And 2 goalies
1-1 would be a fantastic result

All joking aside the teams put up above are the ones most apart from AJ wid pick
Like Bridie’s set up strong in the area that Atletico would like to impose themselves on. It’s almost like the reverse of us in the spl. Contain and counterattack with the pace of Maeda and Kyogo.
We need a point so gung-ho is out of the question. Solid tight hold till relieved then hopefully go get them.

Nawrocki not registered to play in CL if I remember correctly BB .

Big Joe can be Brilliant at times but we know he has an unforced error in him that can cost us Gary but the people I don't trust are the officials who seem to give us nothing in these away games and are all to ready to punish us at the first opportunity.

It's hard enough to play against the quality without being hamstrung with stroppy refs playing to the gallery.

Whilst Taylor will find most of these games challenging you'll note that our last two sucker punches came from behind AJ on both occasions on that side of the park.

The full defence including Joe will need to play out of their skin to get anything from this game.

451 for me morphing into 433 if we ever get over the halfway line. Gonna be a long night in a beautiful stadium. Probably not the place for tweeks fae Brendan imho, but I'd be looking for a bit of strength in front of the back four..

Big Joe...

AJ CCV Scales Taylor.

Calmac O'Riely Holm Turnbull Maeda.

Kyogo.

2 each, goals fae Oh and Kyogo..

Keep the heed and keep 11 on the park and you never know..

That's great 50. Whit's yur bet ae thi day!?

A decided not to bother because its they animals... But if you forced me to put my tuppence on, I'd be going for 4 or more yellows for Celtic doubled with a pen to the home team, your tuppence should return about 14p... Remember to bet responsibly 😂😂😂😂
We will definitely get at least 1 red card tonight. Simeone and the Madrid players were smarting cos the ref had the audacity to correctly send off one of their players in the last game. That will be a mission of theirs and no doubt the ref will be only too happy to comply.

Another tip - Scales to score any time. Hopefully this time it is allowed to stand.

Just watched first half of the U19s CL game v Atletico U19s. 2-0 down and could be more. One shot off the post from Dobbie the sum of our efforts. Lacking in every department compared to the young Spaniards. Can't fault effort from the young bhoys but they are simply nowhere good enough even at this level.
Interestingly we appear to be playing 352 formation, not that it makes any difference.
B team in the Lowland League is a waste of time and it's no wonder any half decent youngster we have wants to leave and go to a club in a country where there is a development pathway for young players. Vata will be next to follow the route out, he looks to have regressed based on this performance.
