I've spent more time than any sane individual should, mulling over the results/performances of two football games. Two domestic games, both of which resulted in losses and the squandering of precious points.
Am I concerned ?.. Yes... Am I angry? ..yes. Am throwing the towel in ?...Not a chance.
This club of ours sometimes leads to a severe bout of myopia breaking out, maybe it's actually more than that, maybe it's the ostrich syndrome; we bury our heads in the sand so as to ignore the obvious. The Celtic jersey HAS shrunk to fit inferior players.
I'm leaving myself open to ridicule here; having stated, perhaps more than I should have, that I'm actually disgusted with our lack of genuine ambition from our powerbroker's, I'm also fully aware, though, that we/they have the means to put things right.
A big ask? Given their record of misspending, ( with the the odd honourable exception ), then, yes, it most certainly is a big ask. Things is, for me anyway, there is no other viable route to stop the rot.
I've felt for a while now that we were just getting by, even when winning. I've tried to exercise patience while waiting for a sign that we'd made good choices in the summer market. I've been hoping against hope that, at least two or three, would blossom into first team ready players. My patience has reached an end. Waiting any longer is to invite a level of failure which really would be a last straw for many. Totally unforgivable.
But... it most definitely is retrievable. How badly do our board want it? Are they willing to give our rivals from Ibrox a route to escaping their financial purgatory? Only they can answer that. And only they have the solution.... Thing is, it's locked away in a bank vault.
