Thanks very much for that and I think your comments re history etc. are spot on.Sounds like a magical experience, rich in history, sorrowful but culturally significant in many ways. Thoroughly enjoyed the story, almost felt like I had been myself.
That’s really kind. Thank you.If you read only one article today folks read this one.
Top class.
?????
Thanks for that. The lack of response was shameful.Agree totally with 50 Shades a must read
You will not be disappointed.
Sad to think we sat in our homes and did nothing. And Government’s around the World
Who could didn’t.
HH ?
Thank you. That’s much appreciated. I would normally say ‘glad you enjoyed it’ but that’s hardly appropriate in this case. That article was outstanding. x standard!. Well done Matt. I had shivers down my spine...and it definitely wasn't the AC.
Thank you. That dust is irritating. I had the same problem whilst writing this.A very poignant article
AsTET says it almost makes you feel as though you were there
Lot of dust in my eyes reading that excellent article once again
Very kind. Thank you. HH.First class ,hh
Thank you. Dust and onions everywhere it would seem.Great story. Apparently, there are ninjas chopping onions somewhere in the house . . . .
Very kind. Thank you. HH.
Europe’s shame right enough and I include myself in those who were too busy to care. I only found out about the role of the Dutch ‘peace-keeping’ forces over there but ignorance is no defence.Brilliant stuff Matt, The conflict in the Balkans will go down as Europe's shame. We stood by and watched and let people die, does anyone remember the Dutch UN troops who were under orders only to use arms when fired upon. They watched on as human beings were being taken away to be raped, tortured and killed.
When the world finally did react Blair and Clinton acted as bad as the worst monsters in the conflict and added to the death toll by an indescriminate bombing campaign, didn't see them in the Hague with the rest of the butchering Bastards though.
Yes, sorry. Brand new to this type of forum so not sure of the protocol.I take it that you're Matt, Boola?
That’s the worry. My Bosnian guides were both quite clear that the nationalist policies adopted to gain votes and therefore control were a huge part of the problem, if not the main cause. They divided people who had been living peacefully together, albeit it appears to have been a delicate peace. My concern is that I still see that fragility there today, not to mention some of the stuff being spouted ‘in the west’.Fantastic article.
What a world we live in eh?
Thank god our politicians are better and the world we live in has improved so mu.........oh wait ?
Thank you for that.Very good article and thought provoking as well as entertaining.
Spot on.After the Holocaust and the evidence that was found in the nazi concentration camps I remember leading politicians saying “ we must never let this happen again”. Well what the fcuk happened here then. Were they all away on holiday when this was goin on. They should be ashamed..... but politicians don’t know the meaning of the word
That’s really kind, Niall. You have no idea what a boost I get from reading a comment like that.Really wonderful article. Looking forward to Matt Corr's book. If he can draw you in like that in a single article I can't wait for the journey a book takes. Bravo!
They don’t know the meaning of many words G,we live in a corrupt and sickening world !just as well most of us are strong and not let it get to us ,it does ,but we can cope ,just about ,if only the day would come that the citizens of the ‘decent’world could bring these people to justice ,we can only hope and pray,hh,After the Holocaust and the evidence that was found in the nazi concentration camps I remember leading politicians saying “ we must never let this happen again”. Thank you, Michael and I agree. Hard to believe this happened on our continent within the last 25 years.Great piece Matt, what happened there still heartbreaking to this day.
Totally agree. Sadly, the view over there is that will be many more lorries to follow. The picture of the lorrys 54 ft long trailer attached with flowers is quite powerful , the horrors that were allowed to happen while the rest of the world navel gazed is abhorent
And yet grim finds are still ignored by the rest of the world
