I think you are being overly generous to Lawwell Jr. He did know Ange and MAY have suggested him to Daddy, but Ange gave all the credit to Michael Nicholson in getting him to join Celtic.

Jota & Carter-Vickers were initially signed on loan when Mark was still employed by the City Group, although admittedly we didn't buy them outright until the summer of 2022.
  • Carter-Vickers initially joined us in August 2021.
  • Kyogo signed for us in July 2021.
  • Jota initially joined us in August 2021.
  • O'Riley signed for us in January 2022.
  • Hatate signed for us in January 2022.
  • Abada signed for us in July 2021.
  • Lawwell Jr. joined us July 2022.
So, I'm not sure Mark Lawwell had much, if any, involvement whatsoever in sourcing any of those great signings for us.

I reckon when Desmond Jnr was over a couple of weeks ago, he did his nut when he seen the financials and put it next to the signings (Or lack there of) went off his nut and reported back to his old man. I reckon Lawwell Snr has been pulling the wool over an inattentive Desmond Snr and Desmond the younger took a closer look than his old man does.
