Stephen Glass has left his position as Aberdeen manager after less than a year at the Pittodrie helm.

The 45-year-old former Dons player replaced Derek McInnes in March 2021.
Aberdeen sit ninth in the Premiership, with eight wins from 25 matches, and were knocked out of the Scottish Cup at Motherwell on Saturday.

US-based owner Dave Cormack was at Fir Park, while a large travelling support reacted angrily to the defeat.

Aberdeen's only win in seven 2022 outings came against League 2 Edinburgh City, while they have picked up two points from a possible 15 in the league since January.

Glass, who had been coaching with MLS side Atlanta United prior to his Pittodrie return, was in charge for 41 games, losing 20 and keeping just five clean sheets.

Speaking after the cup defeat at Motherwell, Glass told BBC Scotland: "If I didn't think it was working I would walk away.

"But I feel like you see the fight in the team at times. I think we have enough.

I see 2 other members of the coaching staff have gone too, they haven’t said who they are putting in charge either temporarily or permanently, can see broony being asked to stand in, personally don’t think he’s ready to hang up his boots, as it’s very difficult to be a player/coach……the idea that Lennon would be in the running is a non starter, he’s shot his last bolt, can’t see him EVER getting a managers gig again, functioning alcoholic, bad attitude, poor man management

The only part of that I'd disagree with is 'functioning'. :)

Perfect job for Lennon to get back into management. We all forget he done a decent job at Hibs and his managerial record is far more impressive than Glass. The Celtic job was far too big for Lennon but he'd do a job at the sheep.

He'd be mad to step in there and fuck up his reputation.Hope when he retires he gets his arse back to Celtic in a coaching role.

I don't think Glass was responsible for the half time resurgence; I'd say that was Broonie and Johnny. Where better for Broonie to cut his death than in a role of such little expectation where any improvement over current mediocrity is a success.

I think the players need to take a bit of the blame when a manager is sacked ..Broony and Hayes included. As i said i think Broony would be daft to take that job with no managerial experience.
