Very optimistic in players worth Derry bhoy, we won't get 30mil for Edouard, 20 mil Calmac no way. As for the rest drop your estimations 5mil. As for 90 mil budget it is my believe you have hit the Xmas sherry early. 😆😆😆
Dont think I agree with all of that Allybhoy, aye you could argue that the current world health situation namely covid19 will have knocked players values down, I agree that's true. For the top players though ? Edouard (imo of course ) he will definately go for at least £30 million and McGregor I believe that if he decides to leave Celtic, though I'm not so sure that he would ever want to, will go for over £20 million. You or others could argue that's wishful thinking but, we sold an academy defender for £25 million in Tierney and he is a defender. I dont believe that KT is or was any more an influential player than calmac and he is definitely one of Celtic's top commodities. Edouard ? The french are raving about him being better than dembele and he only went for £19 million as the club were left in a no win situation else I believe that he would be our current record sale. I always laugh ( not at you) but those across the city who try to belittle the price tags we put on our players. Look at Upemecano, a defender who was (not sure now) with Leipzig when we played them. Hes being linked with all manner of European clubs and hes a defender. A defender in the same french u21 team that Edouard is breaking records for right now , I read they call him the double due to his incredible scoring record , every time he plays he scores 2 at least. We wont get £30 million because PSG have allegedly put a huge sell on clause of something like 20% or higher. How much truth is in that only time will tell though I find it unlikely that the board would sanction a £9 million signing for a teenager knowing that the club would need to sell at close to £50 million to get proper sell on value. I'm guessing it is more like 15% but that's still high but Celtic had to move fast to replace dembele and in edouard they have not only replaced theyve upgraded. In all the time (3 seasons feels longer) that weve had eddy he has had one barren spell and even then covid and injury played a part as he was flying at the seasons start. Going off on a tangent but the upshot is I personally believe that if we can sell KT, a defender for £25 million then at £30 million eddys a steal. Yes it's the SPL but the international u21 is such a high standard and if whilst still at Celtic he gets his inevitable call up to the seniors itll be a bidding war and the club could be looking at way higher than 30. Scottish football is on the up again with both Glasgow clubs and now the national team. That'll help players values across the division☘

Accept your opinions Winter. Imo Edouard not worth 30mill.

Only time will tell, ;)
If I were the Celtic manager I believe that I would find it far more difficult to replace a £25 million defender in KT than I would trying to replace McGregor or Edouard. Yes theres an argument that we have replaced dembele with edouard and celtic are renound for producing top quality strikers consistently but let's be honest here , did anyone , scouting team and Brendan Rodgers aside really believe that he would be arguably better than dembele? I certainly didnt, nor did the SMSM and the rangers supporters who were in for a shock when edouard carried us for a season almost always up front on his own, a role dembele never did . Also it's TRUE we haven't replaced KT yet but that's not for the want of trying I mean how much money have the club spent in trying to do so? Bolingoli, Taylor and now finally laxalt . The 2 former cost a combined total of about £7 million (may be wrong about the numbers) but laxalt is the real deal and to keep him will be tough with the number of scouts constantly watching our players ( and for a good reason too, they've winners with a winners mentality. Should we lose McGregor and Ntcham for, let's say a combined £30 million. Between them we spent £4.5 million or so on ntcham McGregor is an academy product. In todays market it would take no small miracle to replace both. I see McGregor as the true heir to broonys throne though that could change if sorro is being kept in cotton wool for the time being, and turbull also has shown glimpses of a player I'm sure will be a star in the hoops. £30 million 5 seasons ago seemed like money that Celtic would never be dealing in. Since KT was only 5mill short of that and some time ago now. As long as Celtic continue to be champions and beat sides like lazio Leipzig and get draws in lille our players will carry those evaluations for producing on the big stage. I do agree with Derry bhoys idea that we have to plan for the champions league, though if both Glasgow clubs continue to score heavily in the coefficient coupled with Scotland improving. It might not be long until we are back as an automatic entry into the group stages of the champions league but we as a club cannot afford to sit and hope for that. I also believe that the board would never sanction a £9 million deal for a teenager who had yet to prove himself had they not known they were looking at a player who would more than triple that outlay, it's just not how we do business. Ajeti is a super signing and one who will get better and better but we cant rely on that or griff either so when eddy goes we will have to spend a similar if not more amount to get a player of quality in to replace him. I dont believe we got lucky with eddy our board are too diligent for that these days , but just in case its escaped anyones notice, the club are now spending 3 times the amount on players compared to when dembele signed on a development fee. You need only look at the prices for eddy, julien, ajeti, Barkas and the loan fees for Forster, duffy we even spent what £2 million on lights. To make CP a more spectator friendly arena in line with other top clubs around the world. Is this the same approach to when ronny deila was manager? Of course not , he was lucky to get 2mill for a player. I wonder if theres more going on in the background than we are being told. We know that the elite cl clubs are contemplating a breakaway stand alone tournament. Should that happen there will be opportunities for massive clubs like Celtic, the portuguese, dutch and Belgian clubs, are Celtic elevating themselves into prime position for such a scenario? Am I just making it all up? Answers on a postcard. One things for sure we benefited more than most imagined from having deila as our manager and we are now operating on another level from that time (ok that's 2 things but yous get the jist) somethings going down I'm sure of it and I'm not talking about Hamilton 🤔

Very good article and am sure you would get a second interview for the ceo job. Unfortunately you'll miss out because you want to spend £90m on players. Sign of delusions in the mental testing I'm afraid 🙂
I happen to think the PL and NL will go at the end of this season anyway. Not convinced that NL has got 100% support in the dressing room but he has to see us through the season
PL off to UEFA land imo.

in fantasy economics which killed rangers

they can make any figure up and bloat the balance sheet with Enron style valuations

which helps delude deludables
I think it was 2008 oldco were technically trading insolvent, so overnight they doubled the valuation of their property to £120m - which was ten times the valuation we had for all our property (mind you, I believe the value of asbestos was very high then). Hey presto - they could continue buying players they couldn't afford, paying them by tax evading means all so they could steal trophies off of the other teams in the SPL!

enron files were in twin towers along with every bank that was complicit in their fraud

they fell down right at same time Enron news was being investigated

looked like a demolition

but it was just a freaky freak way to fall down when two planes smash into them.

the London fire for days in a high rise not built to same satisfaction as the mighty twin towers burned for days

and didn't impode

they towers imploded like demolition

in couple hours

bush was best friends with the Enron ceo and some of their directors

weird coincidence that all banks involved with the Arthur Anderson scandal and fake audits couldn't have their complicit ness verified

thanks to bin laden

if only he knew

he coulda caused much more western havoc by not blowing up them towers if the paper trail didn't get burned

oh and Enron were the ones trying to get Taliban to be security for their giant pipeline through Turkmenistan and afghanistan

it needed to be democratised for 1 rejecting the pipeline offer

then hiding the big bad man in a cave.

And coincidence again that the chief negotiator for bush family interests in pipeline became the democratic president of new afghanistan

all those weird coincidences never investigated by msm

wonder why?

but you can read all about hearsay in broadsheets involving people who never told anybody

but everybody knew

Arthus Anderson were only struck off cause they got caught shredding two hundred tons of paper trails in their own offices

had they not been caught

would those accountants not been struck off

they all got jobs though at the other big 4 accounting firms
