This may be a bit controversial but if we look at the current squad which is considered bloated by most standards. We have Eddy, Vakoun, Griffiths, Johnston, Armstrong Oki Flex all on good long term contracts... Does anybody think it would be better to just take a 12 months loan as backup. Maybe the likes of Weah for another season. There are plenty of goals in the team from other areas too.

Bloated perhaps but which striker always gets the nod? Eddy. We all know he doesnt do well without service and who knows how wee Griff is when he gets back.
The others need nurtured still and should always play a part when called on. But all the time? They would burn out quicker than a dud firework.
We do need another striker imo if we want to be ready for the arduous 9 and 10.

We need a 30 goals a season striker,out all they guys you mentioned there i see only one natural finisher(Griffiths)Don't know much about Bayo or if he's good enough.No more projects hopefully,far too much at stake

Goals have been coming from elsewhere on the pitch lately but hopefully when the Griff is back and the youngsters come through we'll have enough strikers. Would never say no to another as this season and next will be arduous.
With the majority of our games being against SPFL dross we have plenty of time to blood the youngsters. Both wings have produced very well and even defenders kicking in now. For the sake of a dozen games or so in Europe do we really need to spend another £20 million or so? Not in my opinion.

We need a striker who can play up with Eddy, Griff has sadly proven unreliable. What a insane situation we ended up in this season with only the big fella available, we got lucky!
Play with 2 forwards u next season, whoever is in charge! Enough of this 1 attacker versus 2 or even 3 defenders.

100% agree, Maestro.
Not sure I agree that Griff has EVER proved unreliable as far as goals are concerned. If you look at last season he was not getting game time and he was still amongst the leading goalscorers until he was pulled by the last manager.

Hope he's in a better place when he comes back and is 100% focused on his football, then we might start seeing the best of him again.

IMO we need a proper Centre Forward - Eddy is a good player but NOT a centre Forward . We will get the best out of Eddy when he is playing off a proper No 9 .
We can also adapt our game if we have a big fella up front . Too often we are one dimensional and trying to play through teams - a long ball up to a big No 9 is something we should have in our armoury .

I like the big lad that plays up front for hearts. I think he's called ikpeazu or something close to that.
